Chess Winner

Hello everyone, I apologize if I haven't been around in your blog today. We were so busy in school and other activities at home.   Today was the first day of the Catholic School Week celebration at St. Joe's dubbed as "Faith , Academics, and Service."  It was an Open House today and parents and grandparents were invited to come  to the classroom and   see how  the kids  act and participates  with the teacher's lessons.  Mr. Burrito   got a special seat in the classroom and he got the chance to participate with the other children.  This experience  helped boost Mr. Burrito's confidence to go to school.
In the afternoon, they had the computer class.  It's amazing how kids are so  good with computer  stuff nowadays unlike  in my generation lol.  Mr. Burrito learned some  stuff on the computer too.
Ms. Burrito and Billy.  These two are the Asians  in their class.  Ms. Burrito and Billy were  awarded   for their good deeds.  In their class, they have this behavior chart where the teacher give them  sticker every time they do a good deed then at the 9th week, the students with most stickers gets a a prize.
When we came home, we played  play doh.  Ms. Burrito  made these, pretty timing for letter C of  ABC Wednesday  isn't it?  Believe me, I did not ask her to do that.  She showed it to  me  when she was almost done.
This reminds me when I was still single.  I am always at the end of the line whenever we have to claim our   Christmas Bonus in the school where I worked then because  my Maiden name starts with letter O but when I got married to C, I got in front of the line... such a relief lol.
After dinner, Ms. Burrito  challenged Champ to play chess with  her but Champ thought it's  boring lol.
Ms. Burrito played with  Mr. C and today was the very first time she  won against my husband  wohooooo.
Alright, sorry for this long post,  I am  just in the mood to go on and on lol.  By the way, please join me with Ms. Burrito's  Color Connection meme every Friday.  You can  post  any color that you like.

Ciao everyone and thank you for  your visit and comments.

Yours truly,

Rose a.k.a Chubskulit

Date

During the Christmas Play at my daughter's school, her partner was supposed to be  her husband.  It was cute to watch them.
Before the start of the play,  one of  the moms came and talked to me.  She was laughing because she said that  her son asked my daughter for a DATE?  What?????  A first grader asking for a date?  It freaked me out a little.  Then she said that my daughter said "NO" to her son which she found very clever. Oh thank goodness!

Then  a few weeks ago, he gave this craft that he did for my daughter.  My daughter said that he asked  her again if they can go for a date (watch movie specifically). Oh my,  this is making me so worried wahhhh.  I told my daughter that she can not date until she's 18 hahaha.  I might  be the most paranoid  parent there is lol.   But hey, I never got to  experienced that kind of thing till I was in my late teens lol.
Ms. Burrito gave this  animal toy to her brother which he  found  fun to feed with.  Oh boy, what is the matter with kids nowadays. Phew!

Inn Keeper

Me and the kids dressed up our  entertainment center with some garland, lights, painted pine cones with bow, and some blings in the middle.  The stars are the prize I won in a giveaway and the navy necklace are  our remembrance of our  stay in Korea.
I decided to put lights around the kids' decor in our hallway.  We left  the air vent unblocked for the heat to flow freely.
Ms. Burrito is part of the Christmas play  at her  school.  It will be held this Thursday.  Her role is an Inn Keeper  so we bought her a  costume.  Here she is posing for me  wearing her costume.
Have a good week ahead everyone.

First Grader

We went to our daughter's school last Thursday and registered her in the First grade class.  Time FLIES!  We also paid the tuition Fees upon registration.  It's expensive to send your kids to private school but I like it because the   population is small so teachers, students, and parents knows each other.
My daughter's teacher wanted to  take a picture of  Ms. Burrito's face but she smiled when our daughter  posed lol.
She also included our son for the picture taking.
The artworks on the photo below were made by Ms. Burrito's class when they were in Kindergarten.
Ms. Burrito and Mrs. Gain's FIRST FOTO together.
Today was the First day of  school at St. Joe's.  I thought that I'd be okay when we sent  our daughter but when I came home, I felt nauseous once again just like the feeling I had when we first sent her to kindergarten class.  I wonder when I will get over this separation anxiety lol.

Treats

This is the treat bag that Ms. Burrito got during their St. Day celebration.
I was one of the school room Moms so I got to witness their celebration.
As you ca see, Ms. Burrito wasn't in the mood to smile.  She got fevered after that day.  She woke up with a high fever again today that's why we did not go to church.

Newspaper Appearance

Good morning everyone, how are you? I just got done talking to one of my brothers back home. His wife just delivered their second baby, it's a girl. Congratulations bro! Anyhow, another good news to share is the newspaper clipping.
This is the front page on January 15, perfect timing for my son's birthday.  The  girl in stripe is our Ms. Burrito.  The rest are the  kindergarten and first grade students at our daughter's school who  did the Christmas play last year.
My husband saw this on the school board  so he  asked Dad if he sees the paper with the above mentioned front page.  We missed to see this because it was Mr. Burrito's birthday so we didn't read the paper.  Thanks to Dad who have subscription  for the local newspaper.
Let me share one of my daughter's favorite filipino refreshment/dessert... Halo Halo!
Whenever we go to the oriental store,  we always buy a bottle or two of the halo halo mix.  Good night everyone, I a now going to zzzzz!

Mass Readings

Hello everyone, howdy? I feel like I am floating at the moment. I woke up at 3 am last night and I couldn't go back to sleep. I was worried sick of the event that my daughter has in school today.

The school has mass every Thursday at St. Joseph church which is located adjacent to the school. I like the idea of letting the kids attend mass once a week.  The kindergartner are once again put in the spotlight today.  They did the readings and some presentation.  Here they are lined up, they carried candles as they march  going in front of the altar.
The student choir did great singing every songs.
I was a little far from the procession aisle so the photo below was a little hazy when I zoomed the camera.
They have to go in front t sing a song at the end of the mass.
I took a couple of shots after the mass and before EJ and I headed home.
My little burrito  was getting impatient and keep asking "Is it almost over?"
The church is just 5-7 minute walk from our home so we just walked.
I was focused on recording my daughter that I failed to shift my camera to the kids that she is referring on the paper she is reading.  Oh I am glad that  my daughter is confident and that she  doesn't have stage fright like me.

Here's the song they sung  at the end of the mass.

Do you feel anxious everytime your kids has to do something?  I do!and I hate it, I am the one that get nervous lol.  Thank you all for visiting and for leaving your thoughts.

CATHOLIC SCHOOL AWARENESS WEEK

November 15 - 19 was the celebration of CAtholic School Awareness Week.   They celebrated it through showing their SPIRIT and LOVE for their  school by having a "Spirit Week" filled with different ways for both teachers and students  to show their  charisma and excitement!
Our Weekend Memoirs
MONDAY was a  SILLY SOCK DAY - They wore  silly, unmatched socks with their school uniform, it was  just plain silly.
TUESDAY was a  CRAZY HAIR/HAT DAY - Since St. Joe's is no ordinary school, they show their  craziest hair or funniest hat.   Some students  colored their hair  and some wore big hats.  I braided Rylie's hair the night before and brushed it up  in the morning.

WEDNESDAY - WE ARE THE BEST!! - Showed that they are the best by dressing to IMPRESS! They wore their  Sunday's  best which means that  no jeans or sweatpants. They stepped out on their finest!!!

THURSDAY - BOX TOPS -  to show that they are at the top of the list of "Best Schools".   They brought all the box tops labels they have  collected.  Each class has a goal of 35 pieces  but Rylie  brought 51 pieces alone.  Thanks for the contribution of Jen, Chris, and Dad  in clipping and collecting their box tops labels.

FRIDAY - SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY - Go all out in their  favorite St. Joseph apparel. Free Dress ... Rylie worn her  school hoodie, it's a bit big  for her but that's the smallest size we can get.  She can't even wear the sweatpants that matches the  hoodie.  She didn't want to wear this, she said that it's not fashionable lol..

Have a happy Thanksgiving day celebration everyone!
