Counting Coins

Teaching your children how to save money at an early  age is a great thing.  They would learn how to value money and what factors does it contribute to an everyday  living.  We have piggy banks at home that my Burritos used to  stash coins.  When we go to the store and they "want" to buy something, I always ask them "Do you really need it?"  Then if they say that they don't the amount of the money that they want to spend gets to go to their piggy bank when we comes home.

At the end of the year, they count their coins, their cash gifts received, and the money they earned for our rewards system at home and decide whether they   put it in the bank or buy a big thing they want.   It always  ended  depositing it in their savings  bank, their "Adult Money".

Last year, they accumulated over $200 each so that was  added to their  savings account.  This  practice not only teaches kids how to save and value money but they also apply their Mathematics skills  at home.

Nascar

Nothing is more worrisome for us  parents to see our  children get sick.  Both of my Burritos got the  nasty cold so they were absent from school for days.  Ms. Burrito  got it first then  Mr. Burrito  got it when she got well.  Now that both of them are getting well, I have the cold wahh.

Anyhow, when  he was sick, we received a packae that was addressed to him so he got so delighted especially when we opened the box and  found the Lego Kit for Nascar Racing Car.  He couldn't wait for his Dad to arrive so I helped him put together the lego pieces.

There it goes, the first car that I ever  built hahaha.  Kidding aside, it was fun!  Thank you so much to the Dias Family for adding  sunshine to our little man when he was sick.

Jungle Hunters

I am still catching up with my posting as I got behind when my PC crashed.  Here are more photos that I should have posted weeks ago.  Both of the Burritos have received  something that they could use for "hunting".  Mr. Burrito got a Bow and Arrow from Jen's family and Ms. Burrito had a Cross Bow from Santa.  I feel bad though because they sometimes hunt Bolt (our dog) when they are playing "hunting in the jungle".  It doesn't hurt but it scares that poor little fella.

Santa has been so generous, he left a big bag of presents for them.  These two clashes with each other sometimes but most of the time they are good buddies especially when  doing arts in crafts.

Green Choice

I admire companies that provide their business with  environmental-friendly practice.  One of these companies that uses natural products in providing their services is the GreenChoice, a professional carpet cleaning company in New York.  Cleaning your carpet often will guarantee a long  life for it in your home.  Just like anything else, if you don't take care of it, then it will short-lived which is more expensive as you will need to replace it right away.

Granted that you don't have time to do it, you can hire a company like GreenChoice to clean  your carpet for you.   With a family like us who has kids and pets, it is very important that we use natural products that won't affect our kids or our pets.  Steaming our carpet is one of the  things that we do during Spring cleaning so it is almost due again for us to do that.

On the other note, I am glad to know that a company like GreenChoice care about their customers and  the environment as well.  How about you folks, do you clean your rugs by yourself or you hire someone else to do it for you?

Precious Moments' Nativity Scene Project

My Burrito's received some presents from their Lolo and Lola here in the neighborhood, thanks Don and Ruth.  They both have a set of craft to  assemble and .  Ms. Burrito had the Precious Moment Nativity Scene that needs painting and Mr. Burrito had the cars to be assembled and painted.  We did that during their  school vacation.
We put them away  and plan to display them next Christmas.  The painting job isn't  perfect but still precious because  it's one of the projects that we did as a family.  I love it when my Burritos are in the zone for doing stuff such as this.
Ms. Burrito  named one of the shepherds Zola.  Kids are funny.

Amniocentesis and a Birthday

Announcement, Scooby Doo errr Mr. Burrito is  celebrating his birthday, yippee!

Time flies, I can't believe it's been six years since our second bundle of joy was born.  We are bringing some snacks  and treats for his classmates tomorrow at his school.  I hope and pray that he won't get sick because Ms. Burrito  is sick.  With the flu that has been going around, I am paranoid and scared about my kids.  I hope that what Ms. Burrito has is just plain cold and nothing  serious.

I still recall when my test result  came back with some irregularities during the second trimester of my pregnancy.  My OB Gyne  sent me to a specialist in Pittsburgh to find out what's wrong.  The specialist advised us that our baby might have a down syndrome so he suggested for me to undergo an amniocentesis procedure so they could study what is wrong with the baby inside my womb.  The said procedure  could cause  miscarriage,  so we told him right there and then that we did not want it, that no matter  what our son would be, we are willing to face it and would love him the same.  I am so glad that we did not listen because  for six years now, our son  is healthy and smart.  He was born weighing 8 lbs and there was nothing wrong with him.  God is great, He protects those who believes in Him!

The History of Garage

I love big garages in a home. Our home has a single garage which is hard because we have two vehicles. The second vehicle is always park outside. I would love to have a house with a double garage someday. History of GarageCourtesy of Ifa Auto Low Cost Auto insurance

Smiling Angel

I took these shots of Ms. Burrito using mg new camera lens. I was trying to figure out the difference between my old lens and the new one. I like it but I put back my old one (18-55 mm). I will just use my new one (55-200 mm) when we have to travel.  Here's my  smiling angel.

Dietary Management for Health Disorders

Unfortunately,  all dogs get sick at various stages in their life. Often this is unavoidable and sometimes the disorders can be age related. The good news is that dietary management can help to control many conditions by the inclusion or exclusion of specific ingredients to promote good health.

When dogs are recovering from an illness they often have no appetite and have lost many essential nutrients, therefore the Purina CN diet is great for helping your dog to get his appetite back as the highly palatable formula is hard to resist. The diet also helps to restore the nutrients that were lost but what the body needs for recovery. Feeding your dog this diet will help them to get back to their normal self in no time.

Purina DRM is a diet specially formulated for dogs who suffer from dermatosis, excessive hair loss, atopic dermatitis and flea bite allergy dermatitis. All of these conditions are surprisingly common in dogs and can be very irritating. They can also be very painful and therefore it is important that they are treated appropriately.

The Purina JM diet provides nutritional support for dogs who suffer from mobility problems. The formula helps to support the joints to provide more comfort for your dog during movement and is suitable for puppies, adult and senior dogs. This diet may also be suitable for your dog if they are involved frequently in strenuous exercise as the diet will provide support for the joints and can help to prevent damage caused by repetitive strain.

Both the DRM and JM diets also have treats available made with the same formula to provide further support for your dog.

All of these diets must be prescribed by your vet so if you believe one of these diets may help to improve your dog’s condition then speak to your vet to discuss your options to ensure you are providing the best care for your dog.

If you are going to change your dog’s food you should ideally introduce the new food over a period of seven to ten days to allow your dog to become accustomed to the smell, taste and texture. This will also help to prevent digestive upset.

From Texas with Love

Our family friend who live in Texas sent us lots of Christmas pressies, thanks sis Dhemz and Akesha!
I love the shoes and the dress, thanks a lot sis!  The Burritos had so much fun of the  plastic balloons  which reminded me of my childhood.  I remember when I was a kid, whenever I would ask my Mom to buy me a balloon, she would say "We'll just buy the plastic balloon  it's fun to blow them and you can make a lot more", my Mother is always  thrifty but she's right.
