Visiting Loved Ones at the Cemetery During #MothersDay

After attending mass at the church, we ate    dinner at Theo Yianni's, and then  we  proceeded to  the Chapel Hill Cemetery to visit   loved ones ( my husband's parents and two brothers.)  We usually visit my FIL  on special occasions when he was still around and this was the first time that we celebrated without him so we went to the cemetery to visit them.
I had to take my shoes off because it was   slushy and muddy due to the rain from previous days.
I wish that I could have met my MIL but I wasn't able to come  before she passed.  I did talk to her on the phone when I was still in my country and she seemed really nice.
It's sad to think that  my FIL won't be around anymore for my children's graduations and other occasion but  I hope that he would be looking down still.

I am thankful for the gift of  life, for my children, for my husband and for the good life we live here on earth.  I pray that I would still be around to witness  my  children's  different   stages in life and hope to see grandchildren in the future.  My prayer for Mother's Day is that, may the good Lord   blessed my children good health and may they  grow up to be good people and be successful in life.

A Summer Job They BOth Love

These past summer, one of our neighbor hire the kids to take care of their dog whenever they're at work.  The kids were very happy because  they find something to do  during their school break.  I   was so glad too because  at a young age, my kids are starting to appreciate having a "job" and earning from it.  So you see, just because  they work for it, they learn to value their money.
I mean, I have no issue with my daughter in saving money but my son is a spender.  This  "job" however , changed his perception about  spending.  He learned that, it feels better to  work and "earn" from it.  He saved all his "summer job" pay in his wallet and hasn't  spend it yet.  He said that he will continue to save his money so that when he is old enough to drive, he has some saved up already to buy his own car.  I think, in his mind, buying a car is like buying a box of donutt lol.  But it's okay, at least he is  setting a goal for him to work on.
I love that our neighbors dogs are so gentle.  They are big dogs but really gentle with kids.
We had a great summer and these dogs are part of it.  Dog sitters is a summer job they both love.
Our children are still young but hubby and I  are  planting seed in their young mind that  it is very important to be active.  We told them the importance of  work and working hard to achieve  goals.

RV Movie and Our Kids

We watched the movie, "RV" the other night and one of the scene that my husband pointed out is when Robin Williams' daughter was  a little girls, she was very sweet but as she  became a teen, she  became  very bratty.  My husband said that it would be hard for us to be in that position when our kid becomes  teenagers already.
Right now, we are enjoying the sweet  stage while it lasts.

Odd Rules

When my  daughter's classmates came out the school building yesterday, I saw their school bags full of books so I was expecting that she would have a full one too.  When she came out, she  didn't have any in her bag.  I immediately asked why she doesn't have books.  She said  that she finished all her  works in the classroom but she got "yelled" by the sub-teacher.  I asked her why she got yelled at.  She said that the substitute teacher thought that she  did her work at home.

My kids are very sensitive  and sometimes they tend to exaggerate things like whenever I  raised my voice on them, they think that I am already screaming at them.    So I asked her again if the teacher really yelled at her and she said that the teacher did yelled at her.  My question now is, why does my daughter has to work slow  if she can do it faster than the rest? I don't think that's the problem if I am the teacher.  I don't doubt that my daughter can finish her work for two days in one setting because even when she is attending her gifted class on Tuesdays, she still manages to get her missed work done in the classroom before going home,

Sometimes, I feel like it is kind of ridiculous how  things work in school here, sigh.  Daughter is a bit bored because she is not being challenged and now she is being reprimanded because she works fast, what the heck.

Tooth Fairy's Generosity

Both of my kids lost a tooth  this month.  My daughter lost  her cuspid one week before Christmas and our son lost one  on Christmas Eve.  Pardon for the  sugar bugs, he just got done eating cookies when I took the photo lol.

They were very excited  to put it under their pillows and was very pleased to  find  $5 the next morning.  They normally get a couple of dollars for every tooth  they lost but since it was around  Christmas time, the Tooth Fairy was generous and gave them $5 each, wink.

Simple Things that Matters

During one of our family walk, we saw this machine parked at the back of the church and the Burritos wanted to experience how it feels like to be up there.  With our supervision, we let them climbed up there.
Do you see the funny guy at the back?
Mr. Burrito is fascinated with this Ingersoll Rand SD 100D Drum Drive.  He thought it's pretty cool to rid in it.
Simple things like this can really bring  smiles to our children.

Harvesting Corn

The Burritos were so excited to harvest the corn that they planted at our backyard. My husband said that when he was a kid, he also tried to grew some corn but the ants always beat him to the corn. He didn't think that the kids' corn would survive from the ants but it did.
They were so happy to reap what they sow.  Next year, they are planning to plant more lol.

Exhausted Kiddos

School can be exciting and at the same time exhausting.  Look what happened to my little boy and girl.  I was  cooking in the kitchen and when I returned to the living room to check on my son who  was watching TV, he fell asleep on top of the coffee table.
Ms. Burrito got so exhausted too on the second day.  She  laid on the couch  when she came home and fell asleep.
Now, the two went to school that's why they were tired, I wonder why Bolt is  tired too?  Lol.

The downside of  the kids going to school is the fact that they catches sickness very easily.  Both of them got  a cold  on the first week.

Alrighty folks, let me leave you  this golden rule that Ms. Burrito took home from school.

ATV and Kids

These Burritos are tryng to feel the vibe of  riding an ATV.  My brother-in-law Rick has it  in their garage when we visited.

ATV and kids looks  good together!  Ain't the SMILES on their faces  enough  to show that they wish we have one? Lol.

Cotton Eyed Joe

My Burritos  love watching  the Cotton Eyed Joe video by  Rednex.  They would get up in our bed and  dance while they watch it from my husband's computer.  Oh being a parent is such a blessing, full of fun and adventures!
You can play the music video  below  while writing your comment hehehe.
