Our Soccer Star

Here are some of the pictures of our daughter and the other kids when they had their first practice at the ball field. I am so proud with Rylie because she really listened to the coach when he was giving them instructions. I found it odd and funny that most of the boys were hugging on to their mom/dad and didn't want to participate. My daughter just ran on the ball field as if she had been doing it for a long time. She actually did very good in kicking the ball. Tomorrow will be her next practice. We missed the last one because we didn't know they had it on Wednesdays too, we thought its only on Mondays. My son was protesting because he wanted to participate too but he's too little, he was running around grabbing the ball, we had a blast!
Rylie was observing everybody before she jumped in.

Here's Rylie getting ready for her turn to kick....
Here she was aiming for the goal.. GO anak, you can do it!

Do you see the lil' boy who doesn't wanna let go of his Mom (bottom pic) and the other boy sitting behind his dad (top pic)? Thais Marie and Rylie in action!

Here's my Son EJ in action too.. Since he can't have the ball, he just grab the cone lol!

I'm so proud of you Rylie, go for it!
My heart is filled with so much love and joy watching my kids grow up but at the same time scared that one day the will move out and start their own lives.... Hayyyyy emote!

Chusok

The Koreans are celebrating Chusok today. This is celebrated on the 15th day of the eight lunar month (in Sptemeber or October). it is a day set aside to honour deceased ancestors to in a ceremony called Charye, to thank them for good harvest. Like Lunar new year, it involves tens of millions of people travelling to their hometowns to tend graves and offer a feast.
This celebration is kinda like a combination of United States Thanksgiving and All Souls Day in the Philippines. They celebrate the two occasions in one . This is one of the most important holidays in Korean because families gather together. The Koreans at our work were off duty today that's why I worked from 2 to 7 pm. My Korean friend Mindy gave me a present for Chusok.. I also received a cute souvenier from my Thai friend Voa (shown on the pic..) Thanks guys!
Haeng bok Chusok! (Happy Thanksgiving)

Barking Spider

I just thought of something funny. My daughter Rylie and I were talking in our kitchen while I was cooking yesterday about our plans for their future. Suddenly she got quiet and let out a nort (fart or utot in tagalog)... I said "ewwww what was that?" She then replied "I stepped on a barking spider mom." I was like "what????" She then told me that when she and her dad were reading a book, that was exactly what daddy told her when he farted lol! Gosh my daughter is something! Any funny experience like this one?

6 Easy ways to SAVE on your commute!

It's not news that ever-rising gas prices can be a burden on your bank account. The average family doles out about $100 a week on gasoline—almost the same as what they spend on food, according to the New Jersey Public Interest Group (NJPIRG). If you're looking for ways to spend less on gas and keep a little more of your hard-earned cash in your pocket, try these easy ways to save on your commute.

The price of gas here in Korea is enormous, it is 8 something dollars a gallon, can you imagine that? good thing we can buy ours inside the base where we live, though it still a little bit high but not much. The bad thing is that the supply is out sometimes, just like this month.. We don't have supply from the 8th till the the 28th... sigh...
