Daffodil

When I gave birth to our first born, my niece-in-law Jen gave me  a daffodil plant.  I planted it at the side of my FIL's house, we were still living in his house back then.  I have seen it bloom this year.

  4. I love Narcissus. My dear friend, who was my first "boyfriend" would pick these wild while farming for hsi Daddy and bring me large bunches...and then I had a patient, after I started in the medical field who called me narcissus...She could never remeber my name, or anyone elses, so she names us all flower names. I hope I am not narsistic LOL.

  11. That's a beautiful shot of the daffodil. They always make me think of my daughter because when I left for the hospital when she was born it was snowing, but after she was born my husband went home to pick up some things and brought back daffodils which had bloomed through the snow.

  13. Plants with a special memory or meaning for us always give us the greatest pleasure when they bloom.
Narcissus bulbs like to be pretty deep in the soil for best results. The rule of thumb in bulb planting is 5 times the depth of the size of the bulb. There are few exceptions.

  22. I love daffodils. I hope they are fragrant for you. It's a bit easier to see if they are in sharper focus, but the colors are so pretty anyway.
