Tinolang Manok

My theme for this week's post is food, so here I am again posting what I made for lunch yesterday lol. This is called Tinolang Manok (Chicken Tinola) in the Philippines. We don't have papaya here so I used sayote (Papaya squash) as substitute. I wasn't able to buy spinach in the store but it still tasted good. Spinach is the best replacement for the pepper leaves which we usually used in cooking in my country.Here's my plate with my favorite appetizer.... hot chili peppers.. dyarannnnnnn...
No left over this time, sarap kasi hehehe...

  1. Yeah.. its really mouth watering! I miss that chicken tinola so I love to cook that for dinner tonight. Mas masarap yan with the super "malunggay" ..LOL!

  6. tinolang manok, sarap naman, paborito ni hubby lalo na pag ang papaya ang kasama instead na chayote ;-)

    kakagutom naman , Rose lagi pagkain nandito :-)

  12. Yummy! Sayote is great for tinola too.

    Looks like your hubby and your kids loved that one?

    Pinikpikan - heard of that one? It is a lot like tinola but uses native chicken instead. A delicacy here in the highlands!

  16. Aha, good idea kuya romy.. I never tried putting malunggay in tinola.. hmnnn matry nga when i visit there hehehe, dito kasi alang malunggay,..

  17. Oo naman niko, lahat kasi ng may sabaw nakakapag dagdag yan ng gatas sa mommy kaya nga sa bicol once nanganak ka puro may sabaw ang niluluto...

  21. Bihira lang kasi na may papaya sa store ate so sayote lagi ang ginagamit ko.. paborito din yan ni hubby, pati bunso ko na super mapili kumakain din..
