2nd Scrimmage Football Game

On August 24th, the Jr. Dons team had their 2nd scrimmage.  They played against the team from   Parkersburg WV.  This team was  way different than the first team they played against.  They were very  respectful  and fun to play with.  The Jr. Dons lost again but  they are getting better.  They played better than the first scrimmage that they had against Steubenville team.
Football is very big here so I guess, it is  always  every father's dream for their sons to play football.  ?That's the way it is for my husband.  He is always excited for  our son's game.  I guess, it is kind of living his dream through EJ since he never got the chance to play when he was younger.
Even my daughter is  excited that his brother is playing.  I guess, I am the one who  is still apprehensive about him playing because I am always scared that he is going to get hurt.
They wore their  other uniform which has their numbers.  My son's number is 33.
We are still wondering if he could really see what's going on in the game because he doesn't have his eyeglasses on.  So this weekend, we talked to him sincerely and asked him if he needs a sports google  for him to see better and he said yes.  So we ordered him one but he won't be getting it until the  the  second week of this month.
He is not crazy about the daily practice but he really love football.  The coaches told us parents that they might not be able to win this whole season just because his team are a bunch of kids who just started playing this year.  The teams that they have been playing against have been playing for  few  years already.  But the good thing is that, they would be able to have the experience and see how it feels out there in the field against other teams.
Jr. Dons need to be a little aggressive, right now, they are so gentle when they play.
So other teams are just crushing them but it is okay, it is a learning experience.
It is really fun to watch  these kids play.
Pizza was served after the game.  It is nice that  parents are so involved in this.  We even have  schedule of volunteers to do specific things during the game.
My duty is to wash his uniform everyday because if you don't, it would certainly stink.
The next game was held in Steubenville.  I will post about it next time.

First Tennis Match

On May 15th, we went to Wheeling Park for the kids to attend the first tennis  match after  attending two practices only.  It's been raining since they started   tennis in Spring so  the practices have been cancelled a couple of times.  To go to this match is crazy because they didn't know much yet but we went anyway just so our daughter can experience how it is to play in a match.  She was so nervous.
It's 45 minutes drive fom our place to Wheeling park so we left early.  This was our first time going to the said place so we relied on oir GPS.
EJ wasn't worried because he ain't officially  refistered to  play in matches.
There are so many neat things to see down there in Wheeling.
I would love to stop by there one dayy and ex[plore the place.
We arrived there early.  It was cold  that day and we were not dressed for it.  It was even colder because the matches was in Hilltop courts where it is elevated.
It's a beautiful  state park though.  There's golf course, water park, and the view is beautiful.
We were the very first ones to arrived there so the kids got to practice a little.
When the  coaches arrived, they were surprised we were there.  They  probably didn't expect us to come since the kids were newbies and they  haven't learn so much but they were happy that we came.
They asked us if we would love for EJ to play with Rylie against  the team of beginners from Wheeling team.  We said yes but our son wasn't  up for it, he played anyway.
Their oppornents obviously knows the rules to the game so they had an advantage over them.  Although our kids  tasted defeat on their first match,, it was understandabe because they  only attended two practices so you can't really learn that much from it.
The good thing about it is, they have earned the rules there so they have the idea nw how to play the game.
They were bummed out after the match but it  gave them more motivation to keep practicing and learn more about tennis.  They said that the next time they compete, they will be better and they were right, they didn't lose on the last match that they  have attended last June 5th at Wheeling Bubble Tennis Court .  They have improved so much since their first  match.

Farm Surrounding

Foing to the  Amish community last year was a great short  spontaneous road trip that my family did.  The kids have enjoyed a  different sorrounding like houses in the mi-ddle of farms.  We visited this really old  Amish house and there was a cn old couple who  were  explaininlg things to the  visitors.  IT was a really neat experience for us.
Before going in, we had to take pictures because  you can't really tell a good story without a back up photos right?  Hehehe.  Seriously, we just want to document our  unique experience.
My hair is a little short on these photos.   I haven't cut it since then.
These two were super thrilled to see farming tools that  were like used in  medieval years lol.
It's pretty impressive how  they transferred this house  from one place to another  without destroying it.

Keep Asthma and Allergies in Check with These Simple Home Improvements

Suffering from asthma or allergies can really affect your quality of life, particularly when you can't even find relief in your own home. Homes should be a place of comfort and relaxation, not somewhere to suffer from indoor allergy-related issues. Yet, this is a problem that about 25 percent of American face, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Luckily there are a number of ways to keep allergies and asthma in check. Here are three simple and effective strategies for an allergy-free home.

Clean or Replace Your Carpet

Carpeting is one of the number one sources of indoor allergens. Dust, pollen, and mold get caught in the carpet fibers and wreak havoc on your health. There are a few ways to deal with this. First, you can be extremely diligent about cleaning your carpet. This includes regular vacuuming and washing, as well as regular professional cleaning. If this still does not help the problem, you may want to consider replacing your carpet altogether. You can replace it with a carpet that is more resistant to indoor allergens or install hardwood floors. Though the most expensive route hardwood floors are often the most effective way to deal with indoor allergens originating in your carpet. This is particularly true for those who have animals.

Get Rid of Excess Fabric

Like carpet, fabric is another hotbed of allergen offenders. If you have a lot of heavy curtains in your home, this could be contributing to your indoor allergies. Like carpet, you can commit to diligent cleaning and dusting, or you could replace them. There are tons of stylish, fabric-free options for adorning your windows, such as wooden blinds, roman blinds, and window shutters. These are all stylish options that will ensure that you do not have to sacrifice your home's style.
Improve Your Home's Indoor Air Quality

Another source of allergens in your home is the air itself. Indoor air can actually be more polluted than the air outside. If you suffer from asthma or indoor allergies, you may considerindoor air quality testing in order to determine whether there is mold in your home and if so, what the exact nature of it is. Companies such as MoldGone in D.C. offer such services. With more detailed information about your home's indoor air quality, you can make more informed decisions about what kind of treatment will be best for your allergies. Solutions may include an air purification system, mold remediation, or another route. You will immediately notice the difference to your health once airborne pollutants have been removed.

There is Always Sunshine After the Rain

Hubby and I are working so hard to have  our house  project done but it's been a long process.  Never again we will refinish floors by ourselves lol.  But it is a learning process and I love it that we get to work on projects at our second home.  I think it would be worth all the  body pain and sweat when it's done, we will see.  We still have last process to do and that's the applying the poly on the stained wood and that would be it.  We are behind our schedules of moving but  it's none of our control.  We might move in on the first week of  June, we will see.
Having said all those busy  schedules, we haven't had the chance to visit my father-in-law after our last.  The rain was pouring hard when we last went to Gables Care Center where Dad is staying.  It was scary  because we couldn't see  the road, I even asked my husband to stop on the side of the road because I was  terrified.  We even had hail  that day!  Thank God we arrived safely and we were greeted by  Dad's smile when we came in.
They came  equipped this time, they brought some piano books so they could play more songs to the old folks at Gables Care Center.
It was dinner time when we came and it was nice to see how they all get together and eat at the same time.  Dad said that their food is really good and that he loves eating with his friends.
When they got done eating, they gather around again and  watch the kids play the piano.
I found out yesterday through my niece's Facebook page that Dad was brought to the hospital.  We were always at the new house working so we missed all   phone calls, if there's no message left for us then we assume it isn't an emergency.  According to  our niece, Dad is suppose to have a cat scan on his brain and  have other tests too.  We are planning to visit him tonight when my husband comes back from work and  see what's going on.
It was a nice visit  once again and glad that Dad like it there.  I hope that  he can recover  quickly so he doesn't have to sit in the hospital.  With all the crazy schedule that  my husband and I have, we hardly have time to really sit and relax but I  have to remind myself that there is always  sunshine after the rain so  hopefully all our hard work  is worth it.
