Sand Boxes

We have two sandboxes at our backyard. The turtle (green) one was given by my SIL and the boat (blue/gray) was given by our neighbor.  We have to buy  another bag of sand to put on the other one so they can use it.
Sand boxes are fancy but nothing can beat the joy I had when I was a kid where sand in the beach is endless. I grew up in a coastal area in the Philippines so I  had lots of fun  playing in the sand  during my childhood.  That's what my kids remembered and missing of our place, the fun time they had when we first brought them there.

Speaking about  my place, I talked to my mother last week when she picked up the money I sent her.

  5. I too grew up by the beach. Now live a half an hours drive away and I miss being able to step out of the house, cross the fields and be on the beach.

  6. I think many a backyard has been graced with this turtle sandbox! I bet the person who designed it is happy that so many people buy it! It is handy and not an eyesore to look at.

  7. Wonderful for them to have two sandboxes! It's not the beach, but it's the next best thing.

  8. Yes, sand is as plentiful in the Philippines as grass in a typical meadow. Your kids would just have to content themselves with sandboxes. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

  13. It is funny how we have to give up so much sometimes when we move. I also grew up by the ocean. I miss it very much. Nice Sandbox.
