My FIL calls this Moon Flower. He has a lot of this around the pine tree at the backyard. The flowers are humongous, what interesting is that, the blooms does not last through out the day It's only in the morning where you see they are open wide.
Thanks for dropping by folks. Have a great Sunday! Linking this to Today's Flower.
That's a very interesting, beautiful flower :)

Love the name of moon flower! Pretty name for a gorgeous flower! It seems to have similarities with a purple flower I know as morning glory!
ReplyDeleteThis is a most fascinating flower and so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful second shot conveys the size of the bloom! I want one. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of the moon flower. It is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThose are lovely photos of the moon flower - we have something quite similar here only its wild and we call it hedge bindweed - its probably a distant relative.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful flower, worth getting up early to see.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful shots. I have grown moon flowers and if you go outside when it's getting dark that's when they usually start opening and they are so beautiful against the dark night, almost like lights when you have a lot of vines of them.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first year growing Moon Flowers. They get their name because they open throughout the night and then close again during the day. Mine are just about to start opening, and I can hardly wait. You have some beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful! I'm glad you showed the bloom in its stages of unfurling.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Very dainty and soft flower.

ReplyDeleteThat must be the one we have. We have only one. It is blossoming at night. I see it open early morning. By the time my wife looks it is closed up.
