My son is doing great in school. He is not as active as his sister with extra curricular activities but he is a straight A student. He cried yesterday because he handed me his report card and his Math grade have declined from 100% to 95%. I told him that he still have to recuperate from that grade. He said he doesn't understand why his grade have lowered down since he is really good in Math. I explained to him that he missed one question during their recent test which affected his grade.
I am grateful that my children are really serious with their studies.

Mother's Day and Graduation
Although I have mentioned in my previous posts that I have encountered some setback financially, still I have a lot to be thankful for this year. The good outweighed the bad which is great! My youngest sister whom my husband and I sent to college is finally graduating. Her graduation will be this Saturday, April 12. My siblings who lives far from our province will be coming home to witness our sister's graduation. I just wish that I could be there to celebrate this moment with them.
It's been 5 years since I last saw my mother and I miss her so much. I am so thankful that my husband has a huge heart. He is always willing to help my family especially my mother. We support her financially because we are the only one that could really help her. I am so grateful that I am blessed with a very supportive, kind, and loving husband. This Mother's day, I want to do something especial for my mother who sacrificed a lot just to raise 9 kids. She could have easily left when life was so tough but she didn't. She stuck by us and raised us the best she could. I am what I am today because of my parents, especially my Mom.
I am a mom of two and I know how it special it feels when you kids hand you flowers. I remember when we were still in Korea, my kids gave me a bouquet. Now that they are bigger, they make personalized gifts that I treasure so much!
Motherhood is such a blessing. Not all women get to enjoy it and I am one of the lucky ones who enjoy its bliss to the fullest!

Bruised
It's been weeks since I fell when our dog pulled the leash in my hand while I was not paying attention. My knees are still bruised but doesn't hurt anymore.
What bothers me now is my left hand which took all the weight of my body when I fell and was badly hurt. I am not sure if a bone is broken or what that causes it to hurt so bad. I can't put weight on it because if I do, it hurts like a dickens.
Do you see the swollen part? That's what hurts the most. Hubby encouraged me to go to the doctor so we can have it Xrayed but I don't really want to do that. It will heal up in time.

Stuffed Toys
My children have so many stuffed toys given by friends and family but they are not very fond of playing with it so I send most of them to my family back home. That's why I wondered when my daughter told me that she really wanted the Dinosaur stuffed toy that their Science teacher is giving as a reward at their class. She has been doing extra curricular activities and doing extra homework just to gain the points that she need and she won it.
I told my daughter that she learned the lesson of the value of her effort. I said, when you work hard on something, you appreciate it more. That's why even though she isn't fond of stuffed toys, this one is particularly special because she worked hard for it. I told her that it is like that in real life when she grow up.
Even Mr. Burrito was very proud of her sister's hard work. Hubby and I told both of them that it is very important to do the best that they can with everything because when they succeed, the feeling of contentment and satisfaction is genuine compared to the feeling of happiness when you get something that you did not work for.
One specific example that we give them is getting groceries from the store. With us, we budget our grocery because we pay for everything, there is no free. No offense meant for posting this but we gave our kids the example of those who have welfare card. You can see their shopping cart so full of stuff in the store and that is because the money they are using to pay for it is not from their own hard labor, it is a hand me down from the government. I am not saying this because I am jealous but I am just stating the fact. We told our kids that we might not have all those expensive stuff but we are satisfied of what we have because we pay for it with our own money. Money that we work for.
