Great Find

I was cleaning our basement yesterday and putting things in their place when I suddenly find this collector's plate. It is a 28 years old plate. It says at the back print that it is the only edition of Father's Day commissioned for Fine China by Edwin Knowles.
I was so surprised to find it there because I thought that I removed all the stuff that was left there by the former owner. The former owner of this house left us a lot of stuff like the old gas stove, which still works. I think they have a kitchen down there before which explains why there is a cabinet and dishes.

  22. Hi Rose, that surely is a pretty plate. Makes a nice find. I thought perhaps Norman Rockwell had done the painting buy it appears it is done by a Don Spaulding. Don't know him.
I Googled ""Edwin Knowles" father's day plate" to see that and that eBay has one for sale.

Happy RT! I told Joops that already! I am glad you got him to blogging. :-) I can't get Mrs. Jim interested, she'd rather play computer games.

  23. You have been very lucky with your treasure find.
I usually love to go hunting for collectibles at markets and in our own attic.
These days we have had a thorough lean out and now I'm reading to throw away anything.
I will probably regret everything I've thrown away.

  24. Hi Rose, how you doin'?
For a moment seeing your profile pic, I thought I had popped into a Vogue magazine blog, ha ha.

Yes, its always finding things we have forgotten or don't know about that brings out the smiles and good fortune.

Have a great week, mabuhay, Lee.

  27. That must be a valuable plate, one that belongs to a family heirloom. The former owner of your house left you valuable things like that and the old stove that is still working. Things like them have great sentimental values. Thanks for the post. God bless you all always.
