Rylie's 14th Birthday

Our daughter was born in the summer so when she celebrates her birthday, we usually go on vacation.  We stopped having birthday parties ever since she started school and does traveling as a family instead.  This year however, was  different.  Due to   school expenses, we decided to just celebrate her 14th birthday at home.
I am glad that she is  so understanding about the situation.  Although we did not go to a major  vacation this year, we did some traveling  because of her history bowl competition and  educational field trip.  Those activities really dented our finances that's why we had to adjust our travel plans.  We're also planning to go visit my family next year so that's another big expense that we are trying to save up for.
Her birthday wish is to have her own sewing machine.  She has been watching  sewing tutorials on  YouTube so that's what we got for her.  She wants to  sew her own dress.  She reminded me of my youth, I was so interested in tailoring when I was in high school.  Unfortunately, I couldn't take dress making course because I couldn't afford the materials needed.  I went to  a vocational high school so when we're on our junior year, we had to pick a major which were  food trades and dressmaking for girls.  I didn't like baking but I took it since  our projects are done by group so it's affordable  since  all of us in the class contributes.  I think if I could have afford dressmaking, I would have definitely chose it,  it would have been better.  I never liked the food trade class, even now I don't like baking at all.
Her brother  got her some cosmetics and she was  very happy about it.

Ice cream cake completed the celebration.  Another year  has turned for this sweet lady.   She's excited to start her high school experience at Madonna High School.

We wish good health Anak and good luck on your  high school journey this year.  May God always lookout for your safety  when you are not at home.  We love you.

Nature Lovers

Originally posted on July 5, 2008 - S. Korea

My daughter love everything that she sees around the environment. Animals, flowers, grass, trees, birds and even insects. After we joined the parade for the 4th of July celebration, she saw these toadstools in our neighbors yard and she got so interested that she fired me a lot of questions about it. So when we went home I searched online and explained it to her.

Both hubby and I love nature and I am gad that both of our kids are nature lovers as well.  The photo below was taken during our last trip in Osan, South Korea.  I miss being in the Land of the Morning Calm.

Baking Pretend

The Burritos were in the mood for baking this morning so Ms. Burrito gathered all  her hair stuff and other colorful things.  Took the cupcake baking sheet and mixed their ingredients.  Baked it in her  kitchen and served it to us.  How wonderful it is to have  children, a gift from God that worth all the  treasures in the world.  Happy mother's day to all the Mommies!

Short Bangs

That's how short she cut her bangs lol. It actually grew a little bit already but it was so high that I got upset when I saw it. Good thing, hair grows so fast.
I guess I need to hide when I cut my own hair so she won't copy me lol.
Yes, we cut our own hair here at home.  It's a big savings through out the year.
How about you, do you go to a hair salon every time you need a haircut?

Squirting Play Doh is Fun

These photos were taken by our good friend Tom during Ms. Burrito's birthday last year. Our neighbor came to the party and gave a play dph set for Ms. Burrito and she loves it till now.  Look how her face lighted up with that ear to ear smile, it's so contagious that even Mommy smiled big too.
I just love Tom's camera,it can capture every moment without delay.

Gearing Up for Summer

Good morning everyone! Before I walk Ms. Burrito to school, I'll post this update first. The school was close yesterday so Ms. Burrito had time to play dress up. I can tell that she is longing for summer so bad. She stayed some time in her room and when she got out, she said "I'm ready for summer Mom!"
I can't blame  her for wanting summer so bad.  I can't wait till we can enjoy outdoors again and  wear thin clothing.
Alrighty folks, gotta get ready now. Thanks for dropping by and for commenting as always.

Snow is Better than Ice

My daughter and I doesn't mind walking from school to home  during MWF when my husband is in school.  It's fun to walk plus it gives us exercise and a time to play outside.  The photos below were taken last Monday.
Ms. Burrito wanted to walk in the field where snow was thick.
It gave me a chance to take some photos.
She also tried to climb at our neighbor's tree before we proceeded home.
Snow is better than ice because you can actually have fun but with ice, it is hard to walk on a sidewalk and you always have a fear of busting your kister lol.

I got a bit scared when we drove  to my FIL's house to get the kids (they decided to  went with Dad after school).  The road was so bad that we were starting to  slid.  Oh boy, I hope that this bad weather should end soon.

I Love You!

My darling burrito is very sweet.  She made a  heart shaped card  and handed it to me the other night.
Thank you so much anak for being so sweet and loving.  Mommy loves you very much too!

Little Sister

Here's a bonding moment for Ms. Burrito and Bumble Bee.
Ms. Burrito love to take care of Bumble Bee.  She acts like a big sister to her.  Whatever I do, I have to tell her so she can help in doing it.  Sometimes, I get tired of hearing "It's my turn" to hold the baby from both of my burritos.
Thanks for visiting folks and for commenting. We are having Ms. Gracie (not Bumble Bee)  today so Mr. Burrito is happy that he will have somebody to play with while  his sister is in school.

Alien

Mommy, I want to play and look like an alien. Does this one works?
Oh no, there's an alien  girls roaming around the house!  I'm scared!
Aha, gotcha Mom!  It's fun to play like an alien.
Good morning everyone, it's just another one silly moments in our household.  Hope you guys are having a fine day.  Hubby just hung up the phone, he was  pissed that  he got stuck in the traffic.  He said that a driver who is texting on the  cellphone got  a wreck on the road and it caused a big  traffic.  He is going to miss his classes.  Oh boy, when  will other people realize that driving  while  texting or taking on the phone is dangerous.  I hope it serve as a  lesson for them next time.
Below is my daughter's score on her weekly  pop corn exam.  They keep misspelling my daughter's name, oh boy..
Have a lovely day everyone!

Play Date

I received a call from one of the Mommies in my daughter's class.  She asked me if our daughter could have a play date to her daughter.  I said yes, as my daughter has been asking me  about it too.
That was the first time that Rylie went to a play date, I was worried that she might act  different over at their house without my supervision.  But the Mom said, she was so good at their home.  Thanks Darla and Juliana for inviting Rylie over!

The Tomato Picker - Nostalgia #16

My daughter love to go to her dear Pap's house. Aside from the reason that he let her do things "her way", she also love picking the tomatoes in his garden.
She reminds me of ME when I was a teenager. During summer vacation when school is off, I would go to my relatives in Ligao Albay, Phils and would work everyday picking tomatoes. I think the compensation then (over 20 years ago) was twenty pesos a day (an eight-hour of work under the scourging heat of the sun.) You might not believe it but it's true. While other teenagers are enjoying their summer vacation, I had to work my butt off so I would have money to buy my school things and my siblings too for the next school year. It's a joy to reminisce those experiences though, it made me stronger and stick to the saying that I believe into "Where there's a wheel, there's a way".

First Day of School and August Celebrants

My weekend went a little nerve-wracking hahaha. I woke up at 6 am last Friday, prepared breakfast, get my kindergärtner ready and we walked her down to school. It's funny to see that my daughter was so calm in going to school but the Mom is so nervous. So nervous that I forgot to check my camera, I just put it in my purse without looking if its complete wahhh. I forgot that I downloaded the photos in my CPU last night and forgot to put the memory disk back. So I wasn't able to take pictures of her in the classroom (I hate when that happens)

Anyhow, as we went back here at home, I was nauseated. I was full of mixed emotion, I feel like I have to cry but I couldn't hahaha. What a weirdo I am. I am the one feeling the separation anxiety not my daughter, oh boy. I am so glad that my daughter is very independent not like me who is always scared of new beginning. I think that my son would be like me but I hope not.
Luckily I was able to take pictures when Rylie got out from school with some of her classmates and hear teacher. So that was my nerve-wracking experience this morning lol. Before I end this post, I would like to greet the lovely people who are celebrating their birthdays this month. First is my dear friend Dhemz of My Life's Perception and Inspiration who is celebrating her special day today! Happy Bday sissy, may God Bless you with more blessings, good health, and happiness.

Also celebrating their birthdays this month are my two sisters Rebecca which birthday falls tomorrow. My sister Lyn is on the 27th and her daughter Justine will be on the 2rd. Happy birthday guys, I miss you all so much! May your wishes come true!

Lovin' it!

Oh thank God, we made it through the first day of school hahaha. I thought I will have a heart attack that day lol. Our daughter is so ready to school. She loves it!

Time flies really! We got home at 8:10 from my FIL, ironed my dear darling daughter's uniform, put the kids the bed and whew it is already 7 minutes to ten. I feel like time is cheating on me lol. Anyhow, this was taken last Friday when we fetched our daughter from her first day in school. Tomorrow will actually be the official first day and I am not as stressed out compared to what I felt last week lol. I just have to update my blog before I go to bed. Yes, I have to go to bed early too as I have to get up at 6. For those who keep visiting my blog, I greatly appreciate your visits. I apologize if I am not around as much as I could.

Rylie is Sick

When my little burrito woke up yesterday, she was complaining that she has a sore throat so we gave her some medicine. It was the last day of her Bible Study yesterday so even if she wasn't feeling well, she still attended. When we fetched her at noontime, she's so down and sick.
Here's my little kitten with the paint mask on. Little brother tried to comfort Ate Rye by wiping the wet rug on her face and clean out the paint.
I couldn't pass the opportunity not to take photos of the scenario yesterday because it was very sweet of EJ to take care of her sister.
After he clean her face out, he gave her a sweet kiss.
This is why I wasn't able to blog today. I also had a dental appointment this morning then we dropped by at my FIL so Rye could stay with Pap while we buy some groceries in the store. She was fevered up to 104.6 a while ago and Daddy wanted to bring her to the hospital but I said that I will wipe her some wet cloth again and see if it helps. He also gave her some meds. After an hour, she was feeling okay and played with us outside. Hopefully, she'll be okay when she wakes up tomorrow. I have a migraine so I am now off to bed, thanks for visiting guys.
