Kids play pretend Camping

Nothing else to do? Take out those camping gears and whip it up in your backyard, that's what we did the other day.
They wanted for us to sleep there but I did not let them since the  tent that they have isn't  that secure from bugs and other stuff.
We plan to buy a real tent and maybe camp in our backyard one night.  Maybe even on Fall, we just need our patio heater to be plugged in.
This is something that we never did for real yet.
Hoping that someday we would.

Sand Boxes

We have two sandboxes at our backyard. The turtle (green) one was given by my SIL and the boat (blue/gray) was given by our neighbor.  We have to buy  another bag of sand to put on the other one so they can use it.
Sand boxes are fancy but nothing can beat the joy I had when I was a kid where sand in the beach is endless. I grew up in a coastal area in the Philippines so I  had lots of fun  playing in the sand  during my childhood.  That's what my kids remembered and missing of our place, the fun time they had when we first brought them there.

Speaking about  my place, I talked to my mother last week when she picked up the money I sent her.

Gardening with Mr. Burrito

We got so lucky to have had two days of warm weather last week. Me and my son took the opportunity and prepped our vegetable garden. My hands got blisters because I used the heave maddock in digging out the dirt hehehe.
I decided to remove the grass adjacent to the fence so I could plant some veggies  in it instead of just plain grass.  I used the grass to  fill in some of the low parts of our yard.
My son was busy picking up all the earthworms he could find and give it to the birds.
I love it that we have a fence now because I can wear anything and not worry about  the neighbors looking at me lol.
My yellow tree (not sure the name of this plant) has bloomed already.
I took shots of these pretty blooms when we went at my SIL's home the other day.
These hyacinth are blooming  beautifully at Dad's front yard.
My Spring flowers did not bloom this year.
Have a  blessed Sunday everyone!

Philippine Products

Below are some of the Philippine products that some of the Filipinoes brought to the multi cultural fair that was hel yesterday at the Millsop Community Center here in Weirton.  First is the  tree made with shells.
A ceiling piece that you can hang in the living room, also made of shells.
A big fan made of bamboo with the Mayon volcano painted in it.
Some shell and wooden product  from the beautiful island of Boracay.
Some small decors made of local products.
A model of tricycle, one of the most convenient form of  transportation.
Below is a local bag made in Bicol (Southern part of Luzon), this was given to me by a close friend when we had our vacation.  Most part of the bag is made of abaca.
Some Philippine traditional costumes.
And Filipina women sporting their  costume.

I'll post some more photos later on.  Thanks for your visit and comments!

Cookies for Sale

Playdoh cookies that is hehehe.

This week's topic at Ms. Burrito's class is about money and time. They are learning the different coins and learning how to read time.
When she came home from school, she got busy making tag price, I asked her what was it for, she said that she is planning to sale her "cookies" so she could  send the money to her  cousin's in the Philippines
She scattered  all her "cookies" in the dining table and put the price tag on each lol.  She has been so concerned about her  cousins  ever since my brother passed away, she said that she wants to help them out.
I know that it is just a play but I am very touched of my  daughter's way of thinking.  She also wants us to have a garage sale  so the money she will collect can be send to them.  Ahhh, can't help my tears from falling.  Wish I could turn back time and  have my borther back alive once again.  I feel so bad  for  their  three kids.

Bonding with Pap

We always proceed  to my FIL's home every Sunday after attending church.
I hope that  Dad is not  getting tired of having us as we go there almost everyday.  The kids love their Pap so they want to see him everyday if possible.
Photos were taken last week.  Since the kids and FIL were wearing blue, this would be a perfect entry for Blue Monday and Ruby Tuesday.

vtech notebook

The vTech notebook that  Tita Crystal gave last Christmas works great for both of the burritos.  I am glad that Ms. Burrito knows how to share now with Mr. Burrito.  This notebook is awesome because  kids can explore with language arts, super sports, game time, math explorer, creative corner, and brain trainer.

Ms. Burrito is very good in figuring out stuff like these which is I am not hahaha.

Spiral Colored Pencil

My sister in law sent these colorful pencils to our kids when we were still in Korea. The kids love to draw with it because whatever colors is in the outside it is also the color of the writings. Thanks a lot Chris!

Thanks for dropping by and for leaving your trail folks!
