Kids play pretend Camping

Nothing else to do? Take out those camping gears and whip it up in your backyard, that's what we did the other day.
They wanted for us to sleep there but I did not let them since the  tent that they have isn't  that secure from bugs and other stuff.
We plan to buy a real tent and maybe camp in our backyard one night.  Maybe even on Fall, we just need our patio heater to be plugged in.
This is something that we never did for real yet.
Hoping that someday we would.

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day everyone! We are attending a memorial service in town at 11 am. Enjoy the holiday and freedom bestowed on us by those men and women in uniform who died serving and defending the country.
Photo was taken yesterday beside the old fire station in Weirton.  Here's a bleeding heart bloom to celebrate the Memorial Day!
Whenever we go visit  my in-laws, I always find time for myself with my camera.  Photography is my way of  having ME-time.

Philippine Products

Below are some of the Philippine products that some of the Filipinoes brought to the multi cultural fair that was hel yesterday at the Millsop Community Center here in Weirton.  First is the  tree made with shells.
A ceiling piece that you can hang in the living room, also made of shells.
A big fan made of bamboo with the Mayon volcano painted in it.
Some shell and wooden product  from the beautiful island of Boracay.
Some small decors made of local products.
A model of tricycle, one of the most convenient form of  transportation.
Below is a local bag made in Bicol (Southern part of Luzon), this was given to me by a close friend when we had our vacation.  Most part of the bag is made of abaca.
Some Philippine traditional costumes.
And Filipina women sporting their  costume.

I'll post some more photos later on.  Thanks for your visit and comments!

Personalized Candy Holder

We dropped by at my SIL's house  yesterday before we visited my FIL.  I saw this personalized candy holder (not sure if it is) in their center table.  I thought it's pretty cute how she used the family pictures to  add a personal touch to it.

Her grand children Shelby and Gracie.
On the other side is our  family picture.
Isn't that cute?

Hand Sanitizer

This is the hand sanitizer that  Ms. Burrito got during their valentine's party in their classroom.  Ain't that cute?
Ms. Burrito is one of the readers once again at the mass  this coming Thursday.  It is the celebration of their class' Saint Day and at the same time is the birthday of the  priest in our church.  The teacher sent us a note that if our child read at the mass last December, they won't be reading this time.  Ms. Burrito read last time but she got to read again this time.  I am glad that she has a confidence  in facing crowd which I never had.  I always gets nervous in front of a crowd even now as a adult.

Love is Light

Ms. Burrito  did not go to the Sunday class  for a couple of times this month.  Mr. Burrito on the other hand  got  brave and went with the other kids.  I was so proud with him because  he usually goes when his sister  does.  I remember the first time he tried it, he  asked me to go with him even if his sister was there.
Sunday class is a  program given to children before reading the of the Bible during masses.  A volunteer accompanies the  kids and  read Bible to them, pray, ad do some religious arts and crafts. Above is what Mr. Burrito made.  He brought the other activity for his sister.
Ms. Burrito got busy with it when came home.
The "Word for Children" is a program of the church which aims to give the  adults a full concentration during the reading of the scriptures.  The kids return to the parents after the homily was given by the priest.
I am glad that our son had the courage to go there by himself.  He is becoming more independent now.  Way to go Mr. Burrito.

Bonding with Pap

We always proceed  to my FIL's home every Sunday after attending church.
I hope that  Dad is not  getting tired of having us as we go there almost everyday.  The kids love their Pap so they want to see him everyday if possible.
Photos were taken last week.  Since the kids and FIL were wearing blue, this would be a perfect entry for Blue Monday and Ruby Tuesday.

Kids Section

I transferred Rylie's arts and crafts table and chair at the corner of our dining room to give our living room more room for the guests during Mr. Burrito's birthday. The kids actually loved it there, everyone tried to sat there and did some scribbling and stuff.
Haley and  Ms. Burrito  enjoying their food.  Little Gracie joined them afterwards.
After eating,  they did some  drawing and stuff.  Below is with the celebrant.
Then Jake took over when Mr. Burrito left.
Glad the  kids had fun during the celebration.  The big kids  enjoyed playing at our basement.  Our hardwood fllor got tore up though from  the  bicycles and stuff wahh..

Sorry folks if I wasn't around much lately, I just have a lot of things going on around here.  Today was a holiday so Ms. Burrito did not have a classes.   I tried to  teach both of the burritos some lessons from the book that I bought in the store.  Ms. Burrito is doing pretty good with the first grader book while Mr. B's span of attention is very very short.  It frustrates me to teach him but I know that in time, he would focus eventually.    I just need more patience in teaching him.

Thanks for visiting  guys and for leaving your thoughts all the time.

Macy's Gift Cards from Mypoints

I am sure that if you are a member of mypoints, you are a happy one when the points you've accumulated over the course of a year is being redeemed into gift cards.  I actually redeemed these gift cards  on November of last year hoping that it will arrive before Christmas.  Only two  gift cards arrived last year which I used to buy my wool coat.
Last week the other two just arrived so we went to Macy's  last Saturday since they were having a one day sale, perfect timing!
We bought hubby another new pair of dress shoes and  winter clothes for Ms. Burrito.  We had a very nice deal n the coat that we bought for Ms. Burrito, it was regularly priced  as $75  but we only paid  $14.99 for it as it was on sale.
All the stuff that we bought cost under a hundred bucks so I still have an 8 something on the last gift card.  Wohooo, I love mypoints!  If you are a US resident and would like to be a member just ping me okay?  I'll send you the invitation, it is absolutely free to join.   All you have to do to earn points is  read their email ads and that's it.  There are also  other ways to earn points like shopping online, taking surveys and other stuff.

Alrighty folks, this is my last post for tonight, it is almost midnight and I have to get up early again tomorrow.  Thanks so much for your continued  visits and comments.

Washer and Dryer

Some of you might have read the article I posted about our washing machine which kept having problem lately. My husband and I browsed for some solutions about the said problem online.  We found some  answers to the same problem we had.  Thanks God for the Internet as it saves us  money.  Hubby fixed it himself through the suggestions online.

When we bought  our washer and dryer, we decided to get an HE or high efficiency  set  because it is suppose to be  a high end.  What it doesn't tell you though is  that there is a manual at the bottom of each machine to tell you want to do just in case of malfunction.  I think this is one strategy   from the retailer so that they could charge you a whopping amount just in case of  malfunction.

Please don't mind my goofy pose there while doing laundry hahaha.
Anyhow, we thought we couldn't fix it so we  made some window shopping at Lowe's that day and was mesmerized by this set lol.
Have a happy Ruby Tuesday  everyone!
