The Burritos were so excited to harvest the corn that they planted at our backyard. My husband said that when he was a kid, he also tried to grew some corn but the ants always beat him to the corn. He didn't think that the kids' corn would survive from the ants but it did.
They were so happy to reap what they sow. Next year, they are planning to plant more lol.

Edge Trimmer
My father-in-law has this manual yard edge trimmer. My husband showed the Burritos how to use it when we visited Dad a couple of days ago.
Children's curiosity is a great way to introduce them to things like this one.
I like this kind of trimmer because you do not need to charge it or put string in it to cut grass. The next day after my husband showed our kids how to use the trimmer, we saw Dad's neighbor using their manual lawn mower which I found to be very neat and practical to use. I'd love to own manual lawn mower and trimmer because it is convenient and cheaper to use. You don't need gas to operate them and it's not as noisy as the electric ones.

Our Garden and Pets
Having pets is wonderful but sometimes they can be a pain especially when they're still pups. Bolt and Maximus has been busy laying down on the veggie and flower garden. Si I was forced to put some board to block them from getting into the veggie garden.
I can tolerate this flower beds to get ruined because they already bloomed but the veggies, I had to do something. These irises are on the other side of our yard.
On the other side, the kids planted some corn, beans, and tomatoes. I told my kids a story about planting corn when I was growing up and they really want to experience that too. So I bought a pack of corn seeds and let them plant it. They are now big. The photos were taken a couple of weeks ago.
Having a decent size yard is nice especially if you have kids and pets. Not to mention that you can grow your own vegetables during warm days.
The grass in our yard is looking brown because of the heatwaves that we have been getting. I feel bad for those WVnians at the bottom of the Northern Panhandle who got hit by the storm. I hope that they would get their electric back and goes back to normal again.

Whitney Farms
My kids and I did some gardening today when we came back home from our family walk. We decided to re-plant some bean seeds to replace the ones that we planted earlier. The birds were picking the leaves that their growth was affected. II am a little disappointed about the progress of our plants this year. Everything seems to so slow and don't look as healthy as last year. I think, it would have something to do with the crazy weather that we have had from last month. I may have to invest into a good plant food like organic plant food from Whitney Farms®. They also have organic soil which is perfect to use for a family like us who has kids and dogs that want to dig into the garden all the time. In fact, I got upset with our little Max a couple of days ago because he ruined the herbs that me and my daughter have planted. Even the lettuce got tore up because he ran around it and dug some holes on the ground. Oh boy, when you have pets and kids, they are your main concern and priority so you have to take them into consideration for the things that you use in the garden. My flower garden seems to be ding well but my vegetable garden isn't. Maybe, it just need a little TLC front Whitney Farms. Visit the link above gys and enjoy the $3 coupon off. Nurture your love of gardening with a little hep from the above company.

Curb Appeal Touches
Our Easter break was spent in working on our front lawn. In our quest to add some curb appeal to our newly built porch, we decided to buy a ton of rocks at Morreli Bros. It cost $90 for a ton and to have it delivered, we have to pay $65 plus $25 for fuel. I was a little confused when they told us that we have to pay for the fuel. Isn't it included when you charge a fee for delivery??
Anyhow, hubby and I decided to just haul the rocks with our truck. It's cheaper that way. Not to mention that we only live 10 minutes away from the place. I think it's a rip off that you have to pay doubled to have it delivered. Luckily we have a truck and it save d us $90. Granted we spent 10 dollars for gas but still, it's a big savings of $80, whew!

The grass at our front yard got damaged during the construction of our porch so I tried to use the grass that we removed from the place where we ut the rocks.
The kids work as hard as we did in laying the rocks. Of course Mr. Burrito has to supervise while we work hehehe.
Ms. Burrito is a hard worker, no matter what task you give her. My husband always say that she is a lot like me, once I started doing something, I don't want to stop.
It looks a lot nicer now when we are pulling at our driveway. The white rocks really add some touches to the over all look of our house.
It would be so much prettier if we hired a professional landscaper but with the money we spent, it's worth it that we did it ourselves. It's a great feeling when we are at our front lawn and passers by will stop and compliment us about the new look of the house. I just hope that the snow we got last night won't kill the plants that we planted, fingers crossed here.

Morning Dew Kisses
I think my red rose love the new location where I replanted her. She seems to bloom more this year than she ever did in the past years. We have been getting rain and heavy fogs for the past couple of weeks.

Gardening Helper
My daughter is exactly how I am when I was growing up when it comes to offering help around the house. Until now, my mother would always tell my other siblings how I was. She has always been proud of me, just like how I am so proud of having a daughter like Ms. Burrito.
Time travels like a bullet, my little miss is turning six years old tomorrow. Happy birthday to my gardening helper, we love you Anak!
She would be so delighted if you can drop by and greet her on her blog.
