Old Gem

My father-in-law always address himself as an "old fart" but I always think of him as an "old gem" for his wits and wisdom. He is a very loving   man who exudes  care for everyone.  He told me once that he wants to live   his last few years  of life like Jesus, that no matter how bad a person is, he still  like  them because there is an inner good in them.  I felt bad  when we visited him yesterday  because he told me that I should call him everyday because he gets lonely and bored at home.  Hubby and I offered him to  live with us  but he doesn't want to be a burden to anyone which I don't think would be a case anyway.
Photos were taken a couple of weeks ago when we went to the park with him
He wants us to visit his two sisters this summer so we told him that  we  can go  at the end of May when the kids are off from school already.  We want to take the opportunity of taking him  because it's very rare that he wants to go somewhere.

Oh it is so nice to  be able to enjoy the outdoor activities once again.    I felt like the winter stayed so long.  We've got some warm days for the last few days but now it is cool again, in fact  we will have some frost tonight, according to the weather channel.

Sacred Heart of Mary

Me, the kids, and Mrs. Fancher went to Sacred Heart of Mary last Friday. They had a garage sale inside the church.  (I find it weird having a garage sale inside the church as I believe selling stuff near God's home is  against the Bible, or maybe I just misinterpreted  what the Bible say).
Anyhow, the lady  who was managing the  sale  saw Mr. Burrito trying on the Junior Firefighter hat so she gave it to him for free.
Having fun with Lola Ruth.
Looking at stuff, asking  questions and all lol.
I only bought a couple of items.  I like this Benihana flower vase from Peru.  It was only  a buck.  It's perfect for my fresh roses.  A friend shared a link about an exact vase, they call it Vintage BENIHANA of TOKYO RED FLOWER SAFFLOWER VASE.
I got this unique picture frame for a a buck as well.
I am making myself as busy as I can  to fight  this feeling of  loneliness  without my kids at home.   I did not  imagine missing  my son's loud voice but I do!

RMU's School of Business

We went to my husband's school today for the 42nd Annual Student Recognition Awards Ceremony.  He was one of the Dean's Scholar Awardee at Robert Morris University's School of Business..
Setting an example as a parent to your kids is very important, that's why we went  with my husband.  I wanted for the Burritos to get inspired of their Dad's  achievement in academic excellence.
After the ceremony,  there were snacks  served at the reception area.  More pictures coming up next time.

Lucky Ducks

Gracie Lou  has this set of Lucky Ducks  toys at Dads.  Even the bigger kids, the Burritos, likes to play with it too.  Kids have so much energy in them all the time.  Being IDLE is not an option to them.  THey  are constantly on the go.
Photos were taken at my FIL's  home.

I am really blessed to join a family who are very kind, loving, jolly, and down to earth.  They also love to joke  which makes life easier. They're the most precious jewels that I have ever found and thanks to the big J almighty  up above for showing me the way. Here's my family's J.. My father-in-law, Jennings, my husband, John, and our two lovely jewels Jillian and EJ.

Youngest Sister

Of all my siblings, my youngest sister  is the only one with a different letter as a start for a given name. My parents picked the first letter of my father's name which is R,  so all of us 8,  have names that starts with letter R. When my mother got pregnant at 40, I suggested to break the tradition and  I suggested  a different name.    It's  an out of this world name and you probably never  heard of it before but it's unique and no one has it but her lol.  Her name is Zilreen Mae.
Hubby and I are trying our best to support her  finances in school.  She is now on her Junior year of her Elementary Education course.  She is working as student assistant in school.  She was first assigned at Elementary department but now transferred to the President's Office in the college department.  I wish you all the best my dearest sis.

Chusok

Yesterday was the start of the Chusok celebration here in the Land of the Morning Calm so we are just staying at home. It's not good to go driving during this big holiday in Korea because most of the people from the City goes home in their home town. chusok is like a Thanksgiving in the US mixed with the All Souls day in the Philippines. They thank and remember their dead ancestors during this holiday. Since we got nothing to do, camera is our best friend. Here are some clicks!
My daughter took this one.. Have a nice weekend everyone, God bless!

Mama is in the Hospital

I wasn't able to sleep good last night because I am worried sick of my mother who is in the hospital since yesterday. Her blood pressure rose up again. She is having a hard time dealing with my sister-in-law whose living with her. I don't know if its rude to let them out of our home because my brother just died but she is not doing what she need to do to help them out. I don't want her family to think that we don't care about them, but if its going to harm my mother's health because of them, I will be forced to tell them to move out. I am so torn and worried right now. Any advice folks? Please include my mother in your prayers, thank you so much!

Performer

We went to the mall yesterday after we took a long walk at the beach. On our way to the play area, the kids wanted to stop by at the toys isle and grab some. EJ got a pair of Korean cars and Rylie got her a tiara set.
Rylie danced for us like a ballerina princess... And after her performance, she got tired and took nap. Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

EJ's Milestone

In just two months, our son's growth and development is leaping like a frog. He went from knowing just a few words to very talkative, now he can talk clearly and communicating is not a problem anymore. I love it during bed time because he would ask for a hug and a kiss and will say "d'night Mama, la'yo!" It just tickles my heart. Then last Thursday, I encouraged him to try pedaling his bike and he successfully did it. Just last month, his feet are still a little bit short but now, he can do it with ease. I am so proud of you Anak! He is also willing to potty trained now although he really succeeded but I am happy because I know that it is a great beginning for him to learn. Okay EJ, grunt!

Fun in the kitchen

Every time I am in the kitchen doing something, either cooking or cleaning up the dishes, the kids are there too. They want to help all the time and keep asking different questions. And because our daughter knows how to operate the camera already, she would always ask for pictures or take picture of us.. Just like these!
Having kids is always fun whenever and wherever you are.

We had so much fun!

During my late brother's wake, we made it sure to cheer up my nieces in order to relieve some of their stress. We always went to the ocean everyday and do something like making sand castle, finding some crabs, collect some shells, and swam! I taught EJ how to swim and he had so much fun doing it.
We've seen an octopus in the sand so the kids watched it crawled back to the ocean. Do you see the octopus? I feel so bad for my nieces, they cried so much when we buried their father.
