Pneumonia, Ear Infection, and Flu

Hello everyone! We had a rough day today (3-7-11). We didn't have a good night sleep last night because Mr. Burrito kept us up. He was pretty sick then Ms. Burrito woke up crying because she was fevered. I was so worried (still am) about them. We did not let Ms. Burrito go to school today and decided to bring them to the doctor once again (for the third time).
Mr. Burrito threw up a couple of times this morning so it really triggered my  nervousness.
HIGH  fever is dangerous when left uncured.  They both  got up to  105.3 which is pretty HIGH!  This is my  entry to ABC Wednesday for letter H.
We brought them at the doctor this afternoon.  I felt so bad with Mr. Burrito because he was in agony.  They were given  a dose of motrin right away and let them eat some pedialyte freeze pops to reduce their fevers.
The doctor   performed an xray this time and swabbed them both for flu.  We will know the result for flu tomorrow but I am praying and hoping that they don't have it.  Based from the xray, Ms. Burrito is developing a Pneumonia while Mr. Burrito's xray result  turned out fine.  He does however have an ear infection..  Oh boy, I just wish that they could have done the tests since last  visit so that the Pneumonia could have been predicted.

Instead of amoxycillin, the doctor   prescribed  a much stronger  antibiotic for Mr. Burrito which is the Cefdinir.  For Ms. Burrito's Pneumonia, she has to take  azithromycin.  Ms. Burrito feels better when we came home, I hope that she won't have any fever anymore tomorrow.  Mr. Burrito on the other hand still has a fever.  All of the three are now in bed since hubby was so tired  with no sleep last night.  I am so tired too but I have  some tasks to write so am trying to stay  awake.
Thanks to all who keep our burritos in their prayer, please continue to say a prayer for them.  Thank you all so much for your concerns, well wishes, and visits.

Treats

This is the treat bag that Ms. Burrito got during their St. Day celebration.
I was one of the school room Moms so I got to witness their celebration.
As you ca see, Ms. Burrito wasn't in the mood to smile.  She got fevered after that day.  She woke up with a high fever again today that's why we did not go to church.

Missing Chelsea

Once in a while, our son misses Chelsea, our former Pomeranian dog whom we gave away to a friend.
She is a very sweet dog but the problem is that she always wants to run away.  Even the new owner  complains about it now.
The good thing that she is gone is that I coud grow my flowers this spring and summer without worrying that it's going to be eaten before they get in full bloom lol.
She really love eating just any kinds of flowers in the garden, eve the dandelions.

Income Tax Return

We finally did our taxes last night at H & R Block. My niece in law did it for free for us. Our fee could have been $487 but since we are her relative, it was free. That's why even if she doesn't want us to give her anything, we gave her a tip because she spent time with us.  Thanks a lot Jen.
There were books, crayons, and other stuff for the kids to do in their office so I was glad  because the kids got busy doing stuff.
Mr. Burrito do not feeling really well so he kinda sat in the corner and just  watch.
Ms. Burrito on the other hand was very busy coloring books.
We got back more than what we expected so hooray for that.  We also found out that we  don't have to pay state tax since  hubby's pension did not  reached the quota for those who need to pay.  That was a big relief for me because we always pay  over 12 hundred bucks for it.

We will have a fund for our  front porch project this summer.  God hooked us up because we  also have to pay for the plumber who did our  gas line today.  Life is really good even with obstacles sometimes.

Gas Leak

We are now on letter G with ABC Wednesday. Call it a coincidence but today, my husband discovered that our gas is leaking. He was at our garage playing with our dog when he smelled the gas. He called the gas company and they sent someone immediately.
The service utility man poked a meter on the ground and saw a 100% gas leak. He shut off our Gas line because it's too dangerous. According to him, any spark can ignite the gas leaks and blow our house. Oh my G... imagine, how scary that is. So hubby started making calls for plumbing services to have the pipe dug out. The first one to came gave us an estimate of $1,100. I almost fell in my chair lol.
The service utility man overheard the guy who came and pulled my husband aside and recommended somebody he knows. Hubby called the recommended one, he came over and gave us an estimate of $650. Oh thanks God, that's 400 bucks less than the first. The good thing is that, according to the two employees who came from the city told us that they are going to pay for the reconstruction of the sidewalk, so hooray for that.
Don't you just love those  surprises?  But that is  the price you pay when you own a home... expect the unexpected.. expenses that is.  So tonight, we won't  have  a furnace and hot water (until  Thursday).  We went to my FIL and took our night time shower.  Luckily, we have two  portable electric heater  that we bought last year that could keep us warm while  being out of furnace.  I am also glad that our stove is electric and not gas.

I realized one thing, although we don't have gas, it's fine with me because  we have electric.  When you don't have electric, it's worse isn't it?  At least with electric, I can still cook, wash clothes, and blog weee.

Gas leak is being linked to  ABC Wednesday.  GOD is Great.  He spared us from having an unimaginable accident.
