Originally posted on July 9, 2008 when we were still in Korea.

My daughter and I were sitting in our front porch and we saw these butterflies that look exactly the same. They were devouring the nectar on our flowers, i hurried up and took some pictures.. I was waiting for them to land together but it seems like they have LQ lol!

Grinny

Dad has a squirrel pet that comes and visit him everyday in his front porch.  He bought a big bag of peanut and  has been feeding him since.  He calls him Grinny because he is always grinning lol.. Mr. Grinny is spoiled already because he does not want to eat other nuts but peanut.

Playful Chipmunk

We were visiting my FIL the other day when I spotted this chipmunk playing between my FIL and his neighbor's yard. I tried to take photos even if the resolution of my camera is not that great. You may enlarge it to see him.

Before we went to Korea, we had one chipmunk that regularly hang out in our front porch, I wonder what happen to him coz I never saw him again now that we're back.

Mother Goose

We spotted this Canadian goose at Tomlinson Lake when we had our little trek adventure two weeks ago. I am not sure if she's a Mom but I'll just assume that she's a mother goose since it is mother's day and it's fitting to talk about mothers.

Being a mother is a great feeling but when you're kids are in the right age already and have their own lives, you'll go back to where you started, just like mother goose.

Okay, I'll just swim alone since my kids aren't here anymore.

No, I am not going nuts guys, I am just missing my Mom lol! Happy Mother's day Mommies!

Dating Canadian Geese

We went to Tomlinson Run last Friday for the weather was warm and it has been over two years since we last visited that recreation area in New Manchester, WV. There are folks that were fishing down at the lake and lots of canadian geese.

These two canadian geese seems to be dating as they were tagging along with each other and when the other one flew, the other followed. Too bad I wasn't able to catch in camera hehehe.

Squirrel on the Roof

When we paid my husband's Aunt a surprise visit in Baltimore, we called her when we were parked outside their house. While waiting for her, I saw this squirell on top of her roof. Please look closely to see him, or you might click the photo to enlarge it.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend folks.

froggy saturday re-ignites turtle memories

One of my favorite past time is gardening, I always want to make sure that my flowers don't have weeds in them. I was doing my gardening one Saturday morning when I saw this frog, well, my husband said it was a toad. so I called my kids and showed it to them. They were so fascinated because that was their first time to see a toad.
My daughter remembered the turtle that my husband found in the woods a year ago back in the States. We kept it for a day and we decided to put him back in the woods. My daughter told us that we need to return the turtle back where her Dad found it because the Mommy of the turtle is waiting for her. I was moved by my daughter's loving gesture/attitude towards animals especially in her very young mind.

friendly deers

We used to have two or three visitors in our backyard during summer. They are the family of deers that lives nearby our house back in the mainland and we enjoy ourselves watching them eat the apple fruit that fall on the ground from our backyard. This apple tree bears so many fruit every year and our neighbor would come out to our yard and pick 'em and make it into an apple pie since I don't know how to make one hehehe. She makes awesome homemade apple pie. Me and my daughter love eating the fruit because they are sweet although small in size. Yeah, it is obvious on my post that I am missing our home... sigh... The good thing is that we are near to my homeland Philippines, so the air fare for the four of us will be much cheaper compared to the states.
