Far Away from HOME!

I am glad that my husband's tour in here will soon ends. We can go back to our normal life again in WV where our home is. There's nothing place like home you know. I'm just thankful that we have a stock file of photos that helps ease away our homesickness. We miss the presence of our family and friends back home. Thanks to blogging, I find a way to redirect my sadness into something enjoyable. These photos were taken at the living room of our abode (Feb. 2007)

tutoring remembrance

To welcome the year of 2009 with a new atmosphere, we changed our dark beddings with the pink mink blanket we bought when we went to the international market in Busan. This is a remembrance of my tutoring gig from Amy. I am sad that will no longer continue her session with me. she has to go to Seoul for a class and can no longer attend with her English class with me. We wish all the best of luck Amy. We will miss you for sure, you've been part of our family. Anyhow, here's Rylie trying to pose with her new Dora sleep wear lol.. Two more days guys and its New Year already. Do you have any resolution or something?

Ulirang Asawa

At 5 o'clock at work today, hubby called me and asked how to cook this particular Filipino recipe called giniling. I was shocked that he's actually going to cook hehehe.. But I'm so happy! He said that he was gonna surprise me with the food but he did not know how to cook it lol.. I am so proud of you Hon, you are surpassing my expectations everyday. Not only that he cooks dinner, he also did the laundry and clean the dishes.... awesome!

Mink Binket

The weather is changing drastically. It's getting colder and colder everyday. So we cranked up the heater and dug out our mink blankets (my daughter used to say mink binket). I was busy yesterday, washing up all the bed sheets and blankets. Then we cleaned the house, cooked, blogged a lil' bit and taught my second student at 5 pm.. Whew, what a busy day for Mommy. good thing Rylie is helping me, thank you anak! Here are my kids show casing their binkets lol..This one reminds me when my daughter was still a baby, she used to sleep like this.. Butt up hehehe..
happy blogging everyone and have a blessed Thursday! Thanks for visiting!

Eye Catching Rugs

I always admire houses with beautiful area rugs laid out on the floor. It is always the first thing that catches my eyes especially if the house has wooden floor or tiles. Back in the Philippines where I came from, I seldom seen fancy rugs on the floor, maybe because it's quite expensive there and average people can't really afford to buy one or they don't prefer to have one.

Before we left mainland US this year, we renovated our basement and laid out new hardwood floors as a replacement for the old and rotten asbestos type of tiles that was there when we bought the house three yars ago. My husband and I agreed that the theme for our basement will be a combination of a sailors pad with an Asian feel on it. He wants to hang all the memorabilias that he earned for his twenty years of service in the Navy. We will go back to our house in the States after his retirement next year.
