Sinigang na Hipon (sour soup shrimp)

We went to the loacal market the other day and bought some fresh shrimp so my daughter and I made a sinigang. Sinigang (source of data: wikipedia) is a Philippine dish famous for the variety of ingredients one can use as well as for its taste. Sinigang is typically sour and is most often likened to Thailand's tom yam.Sinigang often incorporates stewed fish, pork, chicken, shrimp, or beef. Sinigang's characteristic taste is attributed to the ingredient that gives its sour taste, not to the meat's flavor.Pork sinigang, the most common variety, is usually prepared with tamarind (which provides the sourness), tomato, leek, taro and onion. Other vegetables cooked in sinigang may include okra, spinach, radish, green pepper and string beans. With ours, we used petchay or bok choi because that was the only available here hehehe but it was still Yummy

Keen and Witty International Dating

I would be forever grateful to online dating site because I wouldn't have my loving husband and two beautiful children without it. I remember when my student assistant in the office where I worked then told me to make a profile to this dating site, I told her that I don't want to do it because I was so busy writing my thesis then. She said, I'll make one for you, I agreed to her suggestion thinking that she was just kidding. But to my surprise, she really did it. I wasn't really serious about it until one day this guy frantically left me a message to just contact him in email because his free trial expired. Since my free trial had expired too, I sent this guy an email. And that's when our love story began. From email communication to talking on the phone every so often, we are now happily married for 6 years with two adorable kids and thanks to online dating for it! The picture below was taken during our honeymoon in Cebu, Philippines five years ago.

Liver Spread Magic

As I was gathering my ingredients for the menudo that I was gonna cook for our lunch yesterday, I saw this Reno liver spread that was given to me by a Filipina friend here in base, few months back. It immediately popped up into my mind, what will be the taste of menudo if I add this to it. So being as curious as I am, I did put mixed it with my menudo menu. To my surprise, it was very good. As you can see, this was the only left in the pan when I remember to capture a photo lol.. You might wanna try it guys.. It was darn good..
Goodnight for now folks, its 12:30 and I am so tired and sleepy. I just posted this one after I got done folding 3 baskets full of laundry... Whew! See you folks tomorrow!
