We're Grieving

My heart was crushed when I check my email this morning. I got this email from Gail back in West Virginia.

"John, Rose and Kids. Dad may have already called you to let you know, Aunt Athelea Passed away on Monday. We just found out our selves. I am sure he called you.Love you and miss you!"You may have read my previous post about Aunt Athelea who had a cancer and we were hoping that she would still be around when we come back home this year but she already passed away. I can't help not to cry because she was my second mother in a foreign land. She treated me like her own daughter and now she passed away without us there. The pictures were taken when we visited them before we came here in Korea.To you Uncle Bill, our prayers are with you and for Aunt Athelea soul resting in peace. We love you very much! May God give you great amount of strength to carry on this tough times.

Pork Chop con Maize

We had porkchop and corn the other night for our dinner. We bought this frozen corn and we are surprised that it was so sweet. I ate my PC with rice and pepper.. yum!

We experienced the "love thy neighbor" gesture yesterday. Ate Lelet made some pandesal and she gave us these big pieces of pandesal, sarap! Thanks Ate Lelet!

Beef Calde

My daughter and I prepared and cooked beef caldereta the other day. It's been a while since we last cooked a caldereta and hubby misses it so much. Calde is one of his favorite menu. It's good to add black olives and red bell pepper to it but I don't have at that time hehehe. I always pan fry the potato first because it adds a crispiness to it. Here's the yummy calde waiting for the sauce to be thickened...

I thought for sure that I won't have to cook for dinner but there was no left over hahaha..

chubby little one

When I was conceiving with my daughter Rylie, I used to borrow this little girl in the picture with me. She used to be so chubby and I was admiring her so much. When we visit our place in the Philippines last month, I got to see her again and I can't believe how she have grown up. S is he still cute though and the cool things is she brought me the picture of us together when she was still a baby, so we took a pic again hehehe..

You guys like my uncomb hair? lol!
