Spooky Displays

I mentioned at my other blog that we went for a walk at my FIL's neighborhood a couple of days ago.
There were some spookty displays at some of the houses we passed through.
EJ was so worried about the  foot  above lol.
Wacky poise time, yay!
A ghost passed by when  Ms. Burrito took a picture of me and hubby.  Nah, just kidding.
It was dark when we came back, we saw some deers in front of the  college campus.
Spoooooooky shadows.
Not sure what kind of flower is this.

30 Minutes work out

We went to the Gym early this morning because the kids want to take a plunge in the swimming pool so I hit the cardio room first while the pool isn't open yet. My husband and kids played at the basketball court while I was doing my thing. I jog for 30 minutes at the treadmill (2 miles) and then I stop, I don't wanna miss the fun at the pool hehehe. Hubby took these photos.
Hope you guys are having a nice Saturday like us. I am sore now wahhhhhhhh!

Staying fit on snowy season

During winter, a lot of people in the States complain about gaining weight. Those that rely on jogging is their form of exercise can't do it during this time due to the weather condition. We have a mini gym in our home so working out can still be done at the basement where our bow flex, tread mill and weights are. We also see to it that we play outside once in a while. The picture of my husband and daughter below was taken last year in front of my father in law's house where we used the wooden sled. When the temperature drops and the snow begins to fall outside, it's hard to justify a good reason for getting off the couch. But even though lounging in front of the television feels a lot more tempting than taking a jog or even driving to the gym, there's no reason you have to completely surrender your fitness goals until spring.

Benefits of Walking

I burnt 111 calories by walking for 30 minutes on a tread mill after my work last night. I inclined it to 3.0% and my average speed was 2.94, I walked about 1.6 miles or 237 feet on a mountain climb. Not bad right? I wanna grow old healthy so I can still see my kids have their own families and enjoy life with my loving husband.

Walking is an activity we do everyday everywhere. There's no great trick to walking.. It doesn't require any special skills or advanced conditioning. Some health benefits of walking include:

  • burns almost as many calories as jogging
  • eases back pains
  • slims your waist
  • lower blood pressure
  • reduces levels of bad cholesterol
  • reduces heart attack risks
  • enhances stamina and energy
  • lessens anxiety and tension
  • improves muscle tone
  • easy on your joints
  • reduces appetite
  • increases aerobic capacity
  • can be done in short bouts
  • slows down osteoporosis bone loss
  • and can be done when you're travelling
