Memorable Christmas Together

It was  five years ago when we first  celebrated Christmas together.  We had our first born  already and we were still living at my FIL's home then.  I won't say that it was  my favorite  but it was very memorable  for me because  we're finally became a family, a family that lives together and spend holiday together.

Here's hubby wearing a pea coat.  He have this coat when he was still in the Navy and  he asked me to remove the  badge in it so he could use it as a regular coat.

Gift Card is all I got..

I withdrew $700 yesterday, that was the last  amount of money from my paypal which I reserved to send to my family in the Philippines.  We will send it this weekend  so it will arrive there before Christmas.  I know that my siblings are expecting us  to send them  something.

So now I am broke lol, but I have 2 Macy's gift cards ($150) that I redeemed from  reading emails at mypoints.com so I told my husband that he could use it to buy me a  wool coat hehehe.  Too bad the last two  gift cards that I redeemed  hasn't arrived yet.  I was hoping that it will arrive  this week so I could use it together with the other two, but luck is not on my side.

Anyhow,  I want a long coat because my coats are just waist long.  I have a long one but it's thin that I couldn't use it in picking  up our daughter in school.  It is getting so cold out there too.   I also plan to buy our daughter a new coat as her coat is getting small on her.

Hubby want   a long coat too but he said that he will just wait till next year as he is has several coats that he could use this year.  My kids wants some toys and we still have to purchase it.   We choose to buy  most of the stuff online because we can log in to our upromise account and we earned some percentage of the amount we shop for our kids  college fund.

How about you, what do you expect to get this year?

Christmas Wishlist

The mail carrier stopped by at our front door today and  left the box of the stuff I ordered from nautica.com.  I ordered a short and  a long sleeve shirt for  hubs.  It's one of his wishlist.  See, hubby is very particular with gifts o I want to make sure that he gets  the  thing that he really like or else he won't use it.  I asked him last week, what he wants and he said he wants some nautica shirts since the nautica shirt that he have  are  getting worn out.

For me, I don't really need anything.  I just  want  us to be able to send some money for my family back in the Philippines so that they would have a decent Christmas celebration.  I seldom send my siblings money but during Christmas, hubby and I   make sure to send them even just  a couple of thousands each.  I don't work so I can't send them millions plus I have 8 siblings so I had to  budget lol.  I am just glad that John is not tight when it comes to sending money to my family.

Accomplishment

In  our seven years of marriage, we spent almost two years apart from each other, me in the Philippines and he was in Guam then.  He used to send me a monthly allowance and being the saver that I am, I managed to save enough to purchase a 120 sq meter lot for us.  We asked my mother if she would like her home to be built on the said lot but she chose  our place in Donsol which she regretted later on.  John financed the building of my Mom's house before I left.

When I finally came here, we lived at my FIL's house for a year before  we bought our own.  We have been paying our mortgage for  more than four years but a couple of month's ago, we decided to refinance  because we were offered a lower interest rate by USAA.  Our former loan had 6.25% interest  but now we have  a 4.62% mortgage.  Now we are back to a 30-year loan wahhhh.  It's okay though because it saved us a lot from paying the interest.

We also paid off our car loan last year and eliminated some of the old credit card debts.  Sad to say we accumulated  new ones  lol..

We send two of my siblings to school and also  send aid to my Mom once in a while.  And above all, we have  two adorable children. We only rayed for one but God is so  great that He gave us a bonus, having a son!  That's about what we have accomplished so far.  This is the topic that couples are taking about at..

We Want...

The topic for this week at Couple's Corner is the things that we want for each other. With seven years of marriage, I can say that I have found the perfect match for me. Conflicts with our preferences arises sometimes but it is not major that we can't handle. Just petty thing s and that is what makes and gives our marriage a thrill.  If you would ask my husband, I think he would like me to be more intimate hahaha.  He also want me to  play more with the kids.  He is always the one playing with them whenever he is home but when he isn't of course I played with them too.  He also want me to be more "maalaga", I am not that type kasi ( I need to work on this).

If you will asks me, I just want him to stay as sweet, supportive, loving, faithful, and supportive as he is now. I hope that he won't change till death do us part.  Cheesy lol!

Trust, Faith, and Loyalty

Trust, Faith, and Loyalty...Ain't these three words rolled into one? In marriage, they say that love is the most important factor to make the relationship last. I agree in some sort but as the author of this meme said, the Love without the three ingredients will result to a chaotic relationship. Love will be clouded with so many doubts if you don't trust your spouse. You have to have faith and loyalty with each other to keep the love stronger.
When I was still in the Philippines and my husband was in Guam, a lot of colleagues were telling me not to trust a sailor like my husband because they say that in every port, they are playing around. I did not listen to them because I trust my husband and I have faith in him. I believed that he is loyal to our relationship and I am glad that all their speculations were wrong.
How about you, what is your take on this?

I Know You want Something

I can tell when my husband want to buy something because he voluntarily cooks, wash dishes, and does most of the things that I normally do hehehehe. I can sense it immediately so if my answer to his "want" is no, I would say "Don't ask coz the answer is no" lol. Am I mean? No! I am always practical when it comes to things so if I know that we can live without it, my answer is NO. Just like when he saw that pop-up camper for sale in my FIL's neighborhood, he keep hinting so I said "don't bother asking me coz we don't need it."

For our anniversary though, I gave in to what he wanted and let him bought it. I'll make separate post about it. My husband is never strict to me when it comes to finances. He even asks me if it's time to send money to my family in the Philippines. It is very hard for me to ask him sometimes but he can tell if something is bothering me. Inexpensive Hobbies

One of the many things that my husband and I has in common for a hobby is photography. Before I discovered blogging, I used to spend 20-50 bucks worth of money in ordering copies of the photos we've taken. But when I started blogging, I only upload them here and did not bother having hard copies anymore, although I still want to (I just can't afford as there's too many lol). Anyhow, these two are always the subject of our photography obsession.
I love gardening as a hobby too. This year though, I did not buy any plants at all as I did not have any savings for it. What I did was spread out the seeds that I collected from the previous years and that is all what I have in my garden this year. I still have pretty flowers even if I did not spend any thing this year. Do you save the seeds too?

When we get sick

My husband is like the doctor in our household. He is the one giving medicine when our kids get sick. I seldom get really sick but when I do, he always takes care of me and take charge of the kids and the house chores. Lately though, my migraine keep torturing me. Please migraine, go away as I really don't like YOU! I am a kind of person who literally refuse to take medicines lol but when migraines attack, I can't resist not to take meds because it's a pain I can't ignore.

The first time I saw my husband got sicker than a dog was when I was still in the Philippines. I was worried sick that time because he was sooo hot and I asked him if he want me to bring me to the hospital but he said that he will be fine. I did not sleep that night, I spent my whole night rubbing the wet cloth in his whole body. I was glad that he was okay the next morning. My luvvy dubby is a big baby when he is sick, he doesn't want to it food, he just want to lay in bed until he feels better.
