Happy Valentine's Day Everybody!

Valentine's day is just  a couple of days away.  Do you have special plans to celebrate it with your  Sweetheart?   February is a celebration of my husband's birthday so we  usually combine these two occasion  in one celebration.  There won't be any extravagant stuff, just  being with  our children is special enough for us!

Pizza Day

My Burritos  asked us if we could  designate  a Friday or Saturday a pizza and  movie night.  We  told them yes as it also gives us time to sit and relax with them.    Mr. Burrito said that he will buy the pizza  on one of the Saturdays, we were laughing because we know that he was talking about the free pizza that he gets  for reading.  I am proud of him though for sticking to the program.

Okidoci folks, have a great weekend.

Counting Coins

Teaching your children how to save money at an early  age is a great thing.  They would learn how to value money and what factors does it contribute to an everyday  living.  We have piggy banks at home that my Burritos used to  stash coins.  When we go to the store and they "want" to buy something, I always ask them "Do you really need it?"  Then if they say that they don't the amount of the money that they want to spend gets to go to their piggy bank when we comes home.

At the end of the year, they count their coins, their cash gifts received, and the money they earned for our rewards system at home and decide whether they   put it in the bank or buy a big thing they want.   It always  ended  depositing it in their savings  bank, their "Adult Money".

Last year, they accumulated over $200 each so that was  added to their  savings account.  This  practice not only teaches kids how to save and value money but they also apply their Mathematics skills  at home.

Nascar

Nothing is more worrisome for us  parents to see our  children get sick.  Both of my Burritos got the  nasty cold so they were absent from school for days.  Ms. Burrito  got it first then  Mr. Burrito  got it when she got well.  Now that both of them are getting well, I have the cold wahh.

Anyhow, when  he was sick, we received a packae that was addressed to him so he got so delighted especially when we opened the box and  found the Lego Kit for Nascar Racing Car.  He couldn't wait for his Dad to arrive so I helped him put together the lego pieces.

There it goes, the first car that I ever  built hahaha.  Kidding aside, it was fun!  Thank you so much to the Dias Family for adding  sunshine to our little man when he was sick.

Jungle Hunters

I am still catching up with my posting as I got behind when my PC crashed.  Here are more photos that I should have posted weeks ago.  Both of the Burritos have received  something that they could use for "hunting".  Mr. Burrito got a Bow and Arrow from Jen's family and Ms. Burrito had a Cross Bow from Santa.  I feel bad though because they sometimes hunt Bolt (our dog) when they are playing "hunting in the jungle".  It doesn't hurt but it scares that poor little fella.

Santa has been so generous, he left a big bag of presents for them.  These two clashes with each other sometimes but most of the time they are good buddies especially when  doing arts in crafts.
