Miracle

Our weekend was a busy one.  We visited my brother-in-law who has been battling with cancer since last Thanksgiving.  We were so surprised to learn that his doctor  has decided  to stop  his chemo treatment.  According to my BIL, the doctor told him that if the chemo will be continued, it will just make it worse and shorten his life to three months.  The doctor then told him to enjoy his remaining time of 6-9 months.

It's a devastating  revelation for all of us because  the doctor told us before that everything was  great after his surgery, that the remaining  cancer spots in his liver  can just be treated with chemo.  The doctor just  pulled out  that remaining HOPE we all have for my BIL.  My SIL made some calls and she was able to  contact American Cancer Society.  They have an appointment sometime this month and we are all hoping and praying that  there still hope and chance for my BIL to recover this battle.
The kids were so sad upon learning the news, they  both love Uncle Dave and the thought that  his days are  getting short makes them so sad.
My husband's  theory about it is that, maybe my BIL has maxed out his insurance already that they would no longer pay for any treatment.  We are praying for a MIRACLE to happen, we all hope that my BIL would still be given a chance  and get cured  by this new doctor that will examine him.
Please include my BIL in your prayer, thank you so much!

Role Modeling

When I was growing up, we live in a farm where there's a lot of guava trees. Every time we goes home from school, I would always climb in my favorite guava tree and picked some ripe ones.
I feel bad that my kids  don't enjoy that kind of things very often.  We let them experience  it though every chance they get.

"Role Modeling is the most basic responsibility of parents.  They are handing life's scripts to their children, scripts that in all likelihood will be acted out for much of the rest of the children's lives."
Stephen R. Covey.

Panning for Gold

The weather was very good today so we went to the pumpkin farm.  The kids  had so much  fun and one of the  activities that my daughter did is panning for gold where you can get gemstones, minerals, and rare specimen from around the world.  Too bad, she did not find any    pearls at all hehehe.   It cost $5  to do it and you get different kinds of gems, not much though.

Do You Think You can Dance?

Mr. Burrito loves to dance at home but he refuses to be enrolled to a dance studio. Last week, there was a free 45-minute lesson to one of the dancing school here in our area and we let our daughter tried to know if she like it more than the one where she is currently enrolled.
Parents are not allowed to see the   students while dancing so me and Mr. Burrito went at the back of the studio where there is a hill. We busied ourselves back there.  Mr. Burrito  threw some rocks down the hill and I took some photos.
Ms. Burrito  liked it there but when the  owner handed us the rules, oh man, there were so many rules.  What I don't like is you don't get to see  your child practice dancing or you don't get to see them  in session.  You are also not allowed to take videos or photos during their performance.  So we are staying  on the current one.
So, do you think you can dance?  No,  can't, my feet are both left when it comes to dancing lol.

Lamp from Garage Sale

Our neighor had a garage sale recently.  They were the one who gave me a bunch  of  plants for free.  I guess they want to get rid of  so many things that they don't need anymore.  Both of the cuple are golfers and they accumulated so many golf clubs, they sold so many of them for  a dollar each.  They gave our son an antiques school desk and an outdoor chair too.
I got these pretty red set of bowls and other knicknacks  for 12 dollars.  I really did not want to buy it but I fell in love with the color lol.
They gave these spices rack and bottles  to my daughter.
I needed a lamp for my  computer  desk and this one  is just perfect.  I bought it for $2.
See it matches the treasure  box that was sent to me by a friend from Japan.
These goodies that I bought from garage sale is my contribution to:
