Brave

We didn't go to the movie theater till recently.  Before Ms. Burrito's 7th birthday, we decided to watch the Brave movie at a local theater here in our area.
It was  my kids first time to go to  a movie house and mine as well.
Hubby and I were concerned that the little boy won't sit still but he did and we're glad!
The movie house  was old so we  removed our clothes and throw it in a washer right away because we did not want to take a chance of dragging any  bed bugs inside our home.

Movies always ends up in good ending right?  when we go back to reality, it's the other way around.  With the  recent shooting in Colorado for the premiere showing of the the movie "Batman", I don't think we will go to the movie house again real soon.  It's very  scary.

Being brave is great but how do you do that when you do not know the person you are dealing with?  For the past week, a private and unknown number keeps calling our home phone, the phone would rung even at 2 in the morning.  When my husband answers it, he won't talk.  Well, yesterday, I answered it  and this is what the pervert caller have said.

Pervert: "Hey, what are you doing?"
Me:  (Puzzled) Who is this please?
Pervert: Do you know what this huge c@%*k can do for you this afternoon?
Me:  (Shaking this time and lost my cool)..  Get lost! (hang up)

I am terrified because I think about the safety of  my kids.  How did  this  insane caller got our phone number?   We pay  an additional fee  every month  so that our number won't show in  phone books.  Only few people knows our number, just family and close friends.

My husband called the phone company to see what  they can do and  how to catch this predator.  The phone company then gave us instruction how to block this kind of caller.  They also gave us other option on how this caller's number would appear in our  caller ID.   I am hoping for the best that we would be able to catch this perve.

After the incident, I feel like  someone is watching us, just waiting  for the opportunity to do bad thing to  us.  Oh Lord, please protect us!

  2. I am so nervous and worried for you guys. It's just another reason to always be aware of what's going on around you. You never know, it might just be someone that you know or some neighbor maybe just lurking around waiting for the opportunity. Dear God please protect this family and don't let evil win. Be careful you guys. I'll pray for your safety.

The first time I went to the movie house with my husband and my little boy watching Shrek was like two or three years ago and our boy was so squirmy. Didn't get to finish the movie at all. And after the shooting in Colorado(my heart goes out to everybody affected. It's sad.) I don't think we will ever go anymore. Be safe you guys! Be safe!

    1. See that's one reason why we never go to a movie house because our son is a little hyper so we figured that he won't sit still. We were really surprised that he did great inside the movie house.

  3. I don't go to the theater often, my husband is not a movie goer and I won't go alone. I did go a few weeks ago to see Brave with my sister and her daughter. It was fun and we all enjoyed the movie a lot. I know that the events in Colorado were very tragic, but we can't let those types of incidents deter us from living our lives. If you and your kids enjoyed the movie then you should go again in the future. Don't let the acts of one deranged individual keep you and your children from doing normal things.

As for the caller, hopefully he randomly happened upon your number. Prayers that they find him and that you and your family are safe. Be aware of your surrounds and stay safe!!

    1. Brave is really a fun movie doesn't it? I agree with you, we shouldn't let it affect us but sometimes it open our eyes of what people can do.

I am glad the prank caller stopped.

  4. Hi, this person probably will not do you any harm. Even if it is annoying and scarry. He probably has no idéa of who you are just phoned a number hoping to get hold o a female to scare. It is his sexual needs driving him. And he happend to ring your number. But that does not mean you shall ignore it. Caution may be needed for a while. I don´t think you have to be scared for your lovely children. It is you he needs for sexual purposes. I hope he backs off, otherwise you have to change the number. Maybe you should not answer the phone for a while. He might then loose interest. :)

Thinking of you all and hoping for the best. Hugs. :)

(BTW...don´t expect any Lord to help you. It´s your job.)

    1. Hi there, you are right, I think he just randomly picked our number and dialed it. It's just scary to have this kind of call because we have our phone unlisted in the directory.

About the "Lord", well, there's nothing wrong to ask help from up there, ya know.

  6. ....I am like you, now that the movie theater in colorado was under fire, I don't think I'll be able to go to a movie for a long time. As for the caller, get caller ID...and then, type in that number once he calls to your caller ID list----then, when the caller calls again, his listed number will come up and you'll KNOW not to answer. Once he gets that you don't answer his calls, he'll give up and move on never to bother you again. We've had unknown callers before, and we now have certain ringtones for family members ONLY and DRs offices...we KNOW who the caller is by the ID and ringtone. Otherwise we don't answer.

When it enters our home and our own lives it is terrifying .. stay alert and follow the advice of the phone company .. if it continues I would contact the police and explain the situation .. especially since you have little ones to protect, let alone yourself.
Take care .. be safe !

  14. I won't let the occasional shooting scare me away from the movies, you're actually in far more danger driving to the movie than you are in the theater! Hopefully the pervert who called won't do it again or the phone company can catch him, there are certainly procedures to find out who is doing it.

  15. I have caller ID on my phone and if I don't know the number I do not pick up and let it roll over to voice mail. If it's important, they will leave a message. If your phone is part of a cable package (ours is) you can also block that specific number. We would have this crazy woman from a CA area code call our house late at night/early morning (2 a.m.) and not make any sense at all (she wasn't all there). But, for some reason, she would randomly call our number. I finally figured how to block that specific number and haven't heard from her still.
That caller could have just dialed your number randomly. Our number is a privately listed number too.

    1. We have a caller ID as well. The reason why I picked it up because I was thinking that it was one of my family members from the Philippines as they appear to be No Number at our caller ID when they call.

  16. The kids had fun! I heard Brave was an excellent movie. I went to a movie with my middle daughter two weeks ago. The theater serves alcohol! I just don't understand that concept! I am claustrophobic and don't like the indoor theaters. Living in Colorado it is hard to fathom another attack against innocent people. But I am older and wary of the government! With all this home land security why did no one see all the thousands of dollars in ammunition he was buying. They watch everything we do so I think that is very odd. But my older son, who knew one of the victims who passed away went to see the Dark Knight tonight with three friends.
We never answer unknown callers. If it is important they will leave a message!
Said to say, but with the tragedy here the political calls and ads have stopped for a brief moment. I don't like to be bothered. I don't need anyone trying to sway my vote or opinion. I like to leave the ringing phones to my office where they ring non stop five days a week!
Just pray and pray harder. My mother use to tell me that and I live by it!

    1. I totally agree with you. I did not know that there are movies serving alcohol! The government is very busy focusing on political stuff that they overlook this kind of stuff.

  22. I so seldom go to a theatre, either, preferring to get films on Netflix. Of course, you do lose something in the viewing of certain films on a small computer screen. Before I returned to India this second time, I saw a delightful film, "The Great Exotic Marigold Hotel" filmed here in Jaipur, twice in one week. Fortunately, they had a $5 "senior" matinee.

The Colorado tragedy certainly makes us all stop and think. It seems like safety is a precious commodity anywhere we go. There are no guarantees. Blessings to you and your family.

  32. First time here, thanks to ABC. Your kids are so darned cute, and I hope they had fun at the movie.

When I read the report that one of the people killed at the "Batman" showing was a six-year-old girl, my first thought was, "Who in their right mind would take a young child to such a violent movie?"

We live in a scary world complicated by stupid parents who don't understand boundaries for their kids, nor do they teach simple lessons on right and wrong. Don't let one of their offspring, the prank caller, make you change your lives, please. Your kids know Stranger Danger, and you are a smart cookie. Random things happen, and this was one of them. I hope you are feeling better now... Peace, Amy
