Painting with a Twist Field Trip

My daughter is very excited about her   first field trip   in the gifted program.  They have to go  at Robinson Town Center  for  an activity called "Paint with a Twist".  She loves doing any kinds of art related activities so she is very   excited in doing it.  The trip cost $25 and we have to pack her lunch.

My husband took a day off on that day because he has to  bring  our Honda  to the dealership for car maintenance.  We will also go to the dentist on that day and will try to see if we still have time to   claim their painted plates.  We will see.

Music and Arts Theme for this Blog

We went to church  yesterday so  I am free today, well, not really because I am doing laundry right now lol.    I will be cleaning the house after  breakfast so while I am drinking my coffee, I am  updating this blog quickly.  Hubby is  working out at the gym and he will go back to my FIL to fix his garbage disposal which he wasn't able to successfully d it  yesterday.  Then he has to change our sink's faucet afterwards.

On the other note, I am posting this photo taken at San Antonio Texas while contemplating on whether or not change the theme of this blog.  I am thinking of changing it  from Obstacles and Glories to Music and Arts of Life but I am not sure.  What do you think?

Pampered Nails

With my 8 years of stay here in the US, I have never been to any nail salon here.  I don't even go to a hair salon anymore after   the very  experience I had when I arrive here.    I just cut my own hair and clean and paint my own nails.  I am not comfortable  having other people work on my not-so-attractive feet lol.

I don't do a really good job in painting my nails but it is good enough to  have my nails pampered a little bit sometimes.  See my big knuckles?  Hahaha that's part of my being as I grow up planting rice  before.  I had  fun memories of it though so I have never regret  it.  I learned  so many things that many people have never experienced.

Piñata

Piñata  is one of the popular activity being done in kids parties.  The excitement of breaking  the  piñata in order to   get the  candies inside it makes it  a fun challenge for  the children.  The collage of photos were taken  during  a birthday party of one of my son's classmate.  This was held in Hanover Park, PA and the them of the  party was Pirate.

Cleaning Tips from BISSELL

This post brought to you by BISSELL Homecare, Inc.. All opinions are 100% mine.

We finally got rid of the old stove that we had at the basement.  It has been sitting at our garage and it was taking too much space down there.  We missed the  pick up for appliances but our neighbor said to just put it out because some people are going around picking up stuff  like appliances so they can sell it at the  recycling  places.  We did that and we also  ditched  two of our old  exercise machines that we   don't use anymore.  I was surprised that  an hour after we put them out,  a couple of vehicle drove by and asked us if they can have the stuff we laid  out  at our driveway.  We  told them that they have it all.  You can definitely find cash in  a trash.

Anyway, I am planning to clean our garage this weekend so I gather some cleaning tips from BISSELL and some ideas on how to  orderly organized  tools  and other things down there.  I also enter to win the sweepstakes that they are running right now.  You can enter too for a chance to win great prizes.  I am trying my luck because I would like to have a lightweight vacuum that I can use   both from  upstairs and downstairs just like the one in the photo.

Right now, they are offering $20 off when you use the POWERGLIDE coupon code plus a free shipping.  The offer is valid through November 30th so if you are in the market to buy something lightweight, check out BISSELL and enjoy their   discount.

Donated School Uniforms

Before the   classes started, one of the Moms invited me  to sort our the donated school uniforms in our children's school.  Somebody gave me uniforms before but they were too big for my daughter so I just donated it back to school.  The school sells these  uniforms  for a very  cheap price for those  interested parents.  Some of the uniforms are brand new.
These donated uniforms are from families who transferred from other schools.  Most of the stuff that we sorted  out, we re-donated it to Goodwill.

While the Moms were sorting out the uniforms,  we set up  a picnic for the kids at the   field.  They played while we work.

Indian Caves in Aruba

This post brought to you by Aruba Tourism Authority. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was browsing the Aruba travel website and surprised the read about the Indian caves over there.  Aruba definitely offers unlimited  entertainment and  fun events to do while vacationing.  Golfer, shoppers, party-goers, diners, you name it, there are plenty of activities for every individual  who wants to do different stuff.

If you love peace  and quite, you have that, of you are on the adventurous side, you can try  riding the mountain bikes or all-terrain vehicles.  I think I would stay in the beach just because I love to  be in touch with the  sea.  It would make me feel like visiting my own  country where beaches are everywhere.

After watching the video below, it makes me  whisper "I want to go there someday!"

Some of the world's class chef prepares  culinary  selection that any taste buds can enjoy.  ow that's the part that I won't forget if I visited  such a beautiful island like that of Aruba.  It is always exciting to try the diverse  selection of foods around the world.  Would you put Aruba in your wish list of places to travel?  Share your thoughts and let's talk about it.

Parenting Challenges

Parenting is very challenging.  There are times that I feel like I am not doing the right things that I suppose to teach my kids.  I sometimes think that  what I am doing is wrong  because I disappoint my kids or  their feelings get hurt with what I tell them.  Just like this morning, my daughter went to school  crying because I scolded her for showing me an attitude.
Maybe I am being too hard on her and expect her to do things that I learned to do at an early age.  Maybe, I am missing the point that  kids these days are different than my era.  On the other hand, I want them to learn things  now because I do believe that it will help them achieve their goals and it will make them a better person.  I don't know if it's me or all parents experience this kind of  things.  You know what I mean, when you doubt  your capability of   doing the right things for your kids.  Any advice?
